The Idol Episode 1 release date is sooner than ever. This is an upcoming HBO series that is literally making fans like me cry. I can not wait to see Abel Tesfaye in the lead because hello, 1 – he is hot, and 2 – he is hot. He is also my favorite singer, and that’s also a point.
Seeing Lily-Rose Depp in a very hyped lead role is quite exciting to even think of. She has been a part of many projects, but this HBO series might prove to be a big break for her. As for Sam Levinson, HBO knows his worth, and that is why yet another project was given to him under their banner. And analyzing the excitement right now, the production house was so right.
Sam has done it again, and he is going to bring a Euphoria-style series back on HBO. We will see common fame issues and what happens on the upper side of the entertainment industry rather than a bunch of high school kids. But the gore themes such as sex and substance abuse will again be seen. It can be triggering for a lot of people to watch, and thus, it is advised to move ahead with the content at your own risk.
A trailer has also been released for The Idol right now. We see actress Lily-Rose Depp in the lead, reprising the role of Jocelyn, a pop singer. As for Abel Tesfaye, he enacts the character of Tedros. The man works as a self-help guru and is leading a cult.
The Idol Trailer Breakdown
Throughout the trailer, it is visible how Tedros sits at the high end of power with various strong connections in the industry. He takes a liking for Jocelyn and completely brainwashes her into his ideologies. His past will be very mysterious to us, and it is obvious that the man has not come from a good place.
As for the star who falls prey to his cult techniques, he seems to have stopped listening to anyone else. They are in a very problematic relationship, and that will be the center of the theme in the show. Jocelyn’s career is also at stake because her entire last tour was canceled. It was because she suffered a huge nervous breakdown. At the start of the show, we will witness her on a journey to regain her title as the sexiest pop star in America.
Confirmed cast members include some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Suzanna Son reprising the role of Chloe. She is a follower and believer of Tedros. Troye Sivan will play the part of Xander. He is the creative director of Jocelyn. Jennie Ruby Jane enacts the character of Dyanne.
She is a backup dancer of Jocelyn. Moses Sumney reprises the role of Izaak. He is also a follower of Tedros. Jane Addams does the part of Nikki Katz. She is a record label executive. Dan Levy enacts the character of a publicist working for Jocelyn.
