The number one scripted series for Sundays in the US, The Equalizer, is back with a fresh season, its third run, which premiered last week on October 2, 2022. Hollywood and music royalty, as her very name suggests, Queen Latifah, will reprise her role as our favorite vigilante Robyn McCall much to the fans’ excitement.
The previous season had ended with a gripping cliffhanger where Robyn was abducted during a drive with Vi and Delilah. The iconic trio was hit by another car when two assailants seized Robyn, threw a hood over her face, and shoved her into an SUV along with all her bearings leaving the Vi and Delilah horrified and too shocked to help her.
In the new season, however, fans were convinced that Delilah and Viola would team up with the rest of the Equalizer gang and break her out from the capture of the assailants. In fact, they had gone ahead to suggest that once the tough vigilante is free of her captors, she would ensure that they are brought justice for wronging her friends as well as herself.
As they will have it, the pilot episode proved all these cannons right as the episode entitled “Boom” followed the aftermath of her kidnapping, where the veil separating Robyn’s personal life and life as a vigilante continued lifting.
If anything, this was seen as necessary because, in order to save her, all those dearests to Robyn must unite and do it together.
The Equalizer Season 3 Episode 2 Preview
In the next episode, the second of the new season, the Equalizer team helps the daughter of an NYPD (New York Police Department) firefighter after her father is nowhere to be found. In the meantime, Delilah and her aunt Vi try to cope with regard to Robyn’s capture.
Episode 3 from Season 3 of the show is titled “Better off Dead”. However, no summaries have been released as of yet.
The Equalizer Season 3 Episode 2 Spoilers
Episode 2 from Season 3 of The Equalizer is titled “Where There’s Smoke” and sees Robyn tracking Delilah’s phone to reach her and make sure she is alright. However, Delilah finds that unsettling as she considers such a thing an invasion of privacy and expresses it to her aunt.
Viola is quick to point out that her actions were justified, especially after what happened with Robyn. Moreover, she urges her daughter to open up to her and let her in, which leads to the pair sharing a heart-to-heart right in the middle of New York.
The Equalizer Season 3 Episode 2 Release Date
As mentioned above, the new season of The Equalizer premiered on Sunday, October 2, 2022, on CBS at an unusual time slot of 8:30 pm ET/PT. However, as per reports, the vigilante series will resume in its usual slot of 8 pm ET/PT with The Equalizer Season 3 Episode 2, which is slated to air on Sunday, October 9.

The Equalizer keeps getting better with each passing episode and week. I really hope this show will be getting renewed for a fifth season. #TheEqualizer

The Equalizer Season 3 Overview & Cast
A former CIA operative, Robyn McCall uses her wide-ranging skills to give aid to people who have no one and no place else to rely on. She might come across as a normal single mother who is single-mindedly focused on raising her teenage daughter right, but she has a secret too dangerous to come out.
Robyn is “The Equalizer”, an anonymous vigilante who defends the downtrodden and seeks justice for all those who need her help. Though a guardian angel, The Equalizer also has a motive of personal redemption in what she does.
The major players have returned to reprise their roles in this crime television series with Grammy-Award-winning rapper Queen Latifah as the Equalizer/Robyn, Lorraine Toussaint as Viola, Raven’s Home fame Laya DeLeon Hayes as Delilah, Liza Lapira from Nancy Drew as Melody, Adam Goldberg as Harry, and Tory Kittles as Dante Marcus.
It is worth noting that Sex and the City fame Chris Noth who was previously a series regular, had departed the show after some grave allegations regarding his personal lifestyle were voiced.
The show, which is based on The Equalizer by Richard Lindheim and Michael Sloan, is one of its kind where not only is the main vigilante character a woman, but also, she is a person of color. And so, it would not be too daring to say that CBS’s The Equalizer has done the community justice.
