As we saw in the previous episode, Cid, the protagonist, finds a temporary place to stay at Marie’s inn, where Marie used to work in Lawless City. To gather information about Perv Asshat’s supporters, Cid, 666, 665, and 664 plan to meet up with 559. The mission includes a surprise scene: 666’s mother, Queen Reina, uses her royal blood to open a mysterious chamber with her royal blood.
When they find the Ring of Succession inside, it falls into the hands of Kouadoi, a mysterious cult officer. During the attempt by 559 to assassinate Queen Reina, 666 stops him, leading to a clash with 559, accusing 666 of betrayal. As a result of the chaos, 666 saves Queen Reina and returns to her former life as Rose in Oriana.
During this time, Cid believes Rose is planning to become queen, and he is determined to wait for her to turn into a tyrant to defeat her heroically. Asshat’s soldiers try to extort Marie in another part of the story, but Cid, playing the role of Shadow, takes care of them and gives the gold to Marie, freeing her from the hardships of prostitution.

Season 2 Episode 9 of The Eminence in Shadow sees Cid, the main character, staying at Marie’s inn, which Marie, a former prostitute in Lawless City, runs. Meanwhile, 666, 665, and 664 (yeah, those are their names) collaborate with 559 to spy on supporters of Perv Asshat. A surprising scene occurs when Queen Reina, 666’s mom, opens a secret chamber and reveals the Ring of Succession with her royal blood.
When a guy named Kouadoi snatches the ring, he causes trouble. Now, 559 tries to take out Queen Reina, but 666 steps in to stop her. As a result, 559 accuses 666 of being a traitor. As a result of the chaos, 559 pursued Kouadoi. In the end, 666 saves Queen Reina and goes back to her normal life as Rose in Oriana. Meanwhile, Cid gets it all wrong.
According to him, Rose (aka 666) plans to become queen by getting rid of her father, so he waits for her to become a tyrant before he can defeat her. As the soldiers loyal to Perv Asshat try to cheat Marie for fake taxes, Cid steps in as the mysterious figure known as Shadow to take care of them and steal their gold.
In a parallel storyline, 665, 664, and 559 fight Kouadoi and his soldiers for three days after he gives Marie the gold, freeing her from her past life as a prostitute. Marie is overjoyed.
When things look bleak, Cid swoops in to save them and takes down Kouadoi. However, 559 takes advantage of this opportunity to tell everyone that Rose betrayed them and lost the Ring of Succession.
Here’s where it gets even crazier. While reading the newspaper, Cid discovers Rose’s engagement to Perv. This news doesn’t fit Cid’s idea of Rose becoming a tyrant queen, so he completely loses it. 559, thinking Cid is furious about being betrayed, adds to the confusion. As of now, Cid has an assignment. He flies directly to Oriana to entice Rose to become a tyrant queen.
Cid stays at an inn owned by Marie and expects more drama and twists in the coming episodes. In simpler terms, 666 and her friends spy on a few people, witness a crazy royal moment, and end up in a mess. It’s a big fight. Cid saves the day, but things get worse when he finds out about Rose’s engagement.
He thinks 666 is a baddie, soldiers bother Marie, Cid assists her secretly, and chaos ensues. His mission now is to make her into the queen he imagined. This has been a rollercoaster ride, and the show’s fans can’t wait to see what happens next.
