The Dilettante follows the life story of Lee Ha Na and how her life gets entangled with the life of Giulio Parenti. The top counterterrorism agent currently residing in Korea gets dragged into risk without any option. It is now do or die for Lee Ha Na.
Lee Ha Na has no family except for her brother Lee Du Yi. Lee Du Yi is also a member of the UDT which stands for the Underwater Demolition Team. He is known for not failing any of his missions to date. Things begin to go wrong when Lee Du Yi is sent to Cambodia and Lee Ha Na receives a notification that he is dead.
Lee Ha Na believes the message but when Lee Du Yi calls her secretively, Lee Ha Na finds out that there is something wrong and that Lee Du Yi is in danger. To rescue her only brother, Lee Ha Na sets off to Cambodia. Things get rough when she trusts Giulio Parenti and falls for his trap. Is Giulio Parenti playing with Lee Ha Na or will he help her out?
Previously on The Dilettante Chapter 38: Recap
We saw that in The Dilettante Chapter 38, Lee Ha Na knew that Giulio Parenti was an exasperating son of a bitch and yet when he touched her so tenderly, her heart ached as if it was under a spell. Giulio Parenti tells her to make eye contact and goes in for a kiss.
This might be the last night they spend together, Lee Ha Na and Giulio Parenti. If they have to bid goodbyes, then at least for this moment Lee Ha Na did not want to think about anything. She just wanted to hold Giulio Parenti and never let go. Lee Ha Na could surely allow herself this self-indulgence at least.
The next morning, Giulio Parenti decides to let Lee Ha Na sleep longer. Lee Ha Na wakes up the second he leaves as she is just pretending to be asleep. She then calls Logan and asks for details about her brother, Lee Du Yi.
Logan tells Lee Ha Na that Giulio Parenti requested him to rescue Lee Ha Na’s brother, Lee Du Yi. Lee Du Yi was injured but it was not too serious. Logan tells Lee Ha Na that he had no idea Mu Jin Kang was such a madman. He also apologizes to Lee Ha Na.
Lee Ha Na asks Logan for a favor as his apology. Lee Ha Na wanted to lead the operation that Valentine’s Day had been entrusted with. Logan asks if Giulio Parenti is aware of it and Lee Ha Na tells him that the CIA is watching him so she does not want to put Giulio Parenti’s life in danger.
The Dilettante Chapter 39: What To Expect
We will see in The Dilettante Chapter 39 that Logan will prepare Lee Ha Na everything she has asked him for; a helicopter on standby 500 meters ahead, a primary weapon, a secondary weapon, and three magazines.
As we do not know yet what Lee Ha Na has planned, we will be briefed on it in the next chapter. Will Logan actually keep his promise and not tell Giulio Parenti about this? Will Lee Ha Na be able to pull this mission off by herself?
