Lee Hana, the protagonist of this story, is a top counterterrorism agent. A Private Military Company scouted her from the special missions unit. She has never failed a mission, so the price on her head is astronomical.
Oh, and Lee Hana also has a twin brother in the intelligence service. That makes her even more legendary. There are rumors that he is the only living relative that Lee Hana has got. His name is Lee Duyi.
Lee Duyi has been traveling all over the world. He started getting assigned to real missions right after he got discharged from the Underwater Demolition Team (A special force within the Navy).
One day, Lee Hana receives a call from an unknown international number. The call is from the National Security and Intelligence Service. They call to tell her that her brother, Lee Duyi did not survive his last mission.
The pain was unreal. It felt like Lee Hana was going deaf and blind all at once. This had to be some kind of awful nightmare. Lee Duyi was the reason why Lee Hana had returned to Korea, and now he was no longer there.
The night after he learns about his death, she finds a mysterious phone under her bed and that is when Lee Duyi calls her. The agency said he was dead, but he is still alive. Lee Hana wonders if it is a device that can not be tracked or tapped.
This meant that Lee Duyi was in a fix. Lee Hana leaves for Cambodia as soon as possible because otherwise, she might actually lose her brother. This is surely not going to be safe and easy.
Previously on The Dilettante Chapter 36: Recap
In the previous chapter, which is The Dilettante Chapter 36, we saw that Red Oak is not commonly used for ships due to its susceptibility to water damage. By taking a photo of the floor, Lee Duyi intended to convey that he was aboard an anchored ship.
Unfortunately, that did not get across to Lee Hana. The real Mu Jin Kang had come to make conversation with Lee Duyi, but he fell unconscious. Now, Mu Jin Kang was determined to play like a villain.
We then saw a scene where it looked like Lee Hana was on board Yuri Petrov’s cruise ship. She comes out of her room and asks about her brother’s whereabouts.
Lee Hana gets so pissed at Giulio Parenti for not telling her about her brother and for inserting that syringe in her to make her fall unconscious. Giulio Parenti was the only man she had trusted, and now he also had gone to this extent.
Giulio Parenti tells Lee Hana that her brother is not at the coordinates and he has moved from the location because the FBI was on the outlook. But can we trust Giulio Parenti after all that he has done as of now?
