Demon King Satan was forced to flee to another realm with his Demon General, Alsiel, as Hero Emilia was about to put him to death. The twosome is shocked to discover they have lost just about all of their magic and have also been changed into regular people, leaving them stuck in the faraway country of Japan.
As Japanese citizens, the Demon King and his companions must now adapt to contemporary society as best they can in order to survive while still plotting to take control of the nation. They do this by working a part-time job at a fast food restaurant. Will Japan ever become Satan’s new realm, though, with Hero Emilia and other characters hot on his heels to finally put him to death?
The Devil is a Part-Timer Episode Recap
A mystery woman on Ente Isla enters the deserted Devil King’s castle and transforms a solitary plant into energy before delivering it to Earth. While visiting Bell, Emilia makes fun of Maou, Alciel, and Urushihara for being poor in one of their typical arguments. Before going for his work at MgRonald’s, Maou feels an odd presence in the building. In the house, where they can also sense something, Alciel attempts to tell Urushihara how to tidy up. When the monster in the home starts to attack Urushihara, he is diverted from his attempt to clean up.
Chiho wants to go to Maou’s house once their shift is over, but Maou doesn’t want her to go because of the “thing” in the house. When it starts to rain and they have to share an umbrella, he decides to join. The “object” is later identified as a roach, which begins to terrify everyone before Bell kills it. Above the structure, a gateway from Ente Isla suddenly opens, and a giant apple appears from it.
After a confrontation between Maou and Emilia, Emilia attempts to strike him with her Holy Sword, but arms appear from the apple to block her. They take the transformed apple—a young girl—inside. When questioned about who her parents are, she introduces herself as Alas Ramus and gestures to Maou and Emilia, greatly shocking everyone.
And after discovery, the group tries to decide what to do with Alas Ramus, thinking that since her name is an Ente Islan name, she isn’t really related to the angels. Maou consents to let her remain and look after her at their home. Later, Chiho purchases baby necessities for Alas Ramus in an effort to help herself out and as a result of her ongoing anxiety over not having heard back from Maou over her confession.
Suzuki is given tickets to the theme park Tokyo Big-Egg Town so that they can go together after Emilia talks to her about the conflict between Suzuki, Maou, and Alas Ramus. Due to a miscommunication, Chiho and Suzuna bring Alas Ramus to visit Maou at work, resulting in a small scandal. Maou and Chiho are spoken to by the manager, Kisaki, who advises them to take greater care with how they appear.
Chiho agrees with Maou’s apology that he can’t yet respond to her confession while also thanking her for all of her assistance. The group now has six members when Kisaki offers Maou tickets to Tokyo Big-Egg Town. The girl insists that Emilia accompany Maou and Alas Ramus to the park, and Emilia unwillingly complies. Alciel, Chiho, and Suzuki choose to sneakily track the three on their “date” on the day of the trip. Urushihara detects an angel entering through some kind of gate with his troops in order to restore the “Tree of Life” at another location.
