In order to survive in Tokyo, the once-almighty Satan, now Sadao Maou, secures a job at a local fast-food restaurant called MgRonald’s. Sounds familiar? Determined to rise through the ranks of management, Satan must deal with his burning desire for conquest in this unfamiliar world and become more than just an employee in this parody of McDonald’s.
Sadao Maō/Demon King Satan, voiced by Ryota Ohsaka, is the main character in this anime series. Defeated in a battle, he now finds himself trying to reach the top of food-chain management. Emi Yusa/Emilia, voiced by Yoko Hikasa, is the one who defeats Satan and follows him to Tokyo to make sure she finishes her work. She adopts a human identity as well.
Shirō Ashiya/Alciel, voiced by Yuki Ono, is in charge of finding a way back home for his lord, Satan, and himself. An interesting character, he is very loyal to Satan and gets upset when he cannot do something right. Chiho Sasaki, voiced by Nao Toyama, is a form of fan service for the viewers. She’s Sadao’s colleague and has feelings for him.
Hanzō Urushihara/Lucifer, voiced by Hiro Shimono, loves playing video games. He made a deal to defeat Satan on his way to heaven. Finally, Suzuno Kamazuki, voiced by Kanae Ito, has to defeat Sadao and Emi but deals with a lot of trouble living in modern Tokyo.
