The Bachelorette Season 19 Episode 4 Recap
The guys think that being divided into two groups will make things easier at the beginning of The Bachelorette episode. Hayden is concerned that his statement that Gabby was “rough around the edges” was taken as a personal attack. It doesn’t go over well when Hayden refers to both women as “bitches” to the other guys. He continues by saying that neither of them compares to his ex.
As soon as Jessee enters the room, she informs the men that Gabby and Rachel have left and are now traveling to France, where they will meet them. But not everyone is going there yet. Two of the guys are going on a fantastic date in Paris with one of the women. Jason, Rachel, and Tino are where Gabby wants to spend the day. The girls are already in Paris and are having a conversation in a café. The previous rose ceremony, according to Rachel, was her lowest point because three men had rejected her rose, which was humiliating and painful.
French Trip
When the remaining guys reach France, Jesse attempts to communicate with them in French, but none of them can. They will be staying on the ship, he informs them. Team Rachel’s hangout area on the boat is separate from Team Gabby’s. On their date, Jason and Gabby are hoping that he starts to come out of his shell a little. They enter a store to have hats measured for their heads.
When Tino and Rachel stop for crepes, the owner offers to let them help make some. She is, in Tino’s opinion, the most beautiful girl he has ever had the opportunity to interact with. He compliments her on how charming she is over wine. When the two couples finally meet, Gabby and Rachel have some alone time. Both of them enjoyed themselves greatly, as did the guys. When it’s time for dinner, Tino and Rachel eat by themselves in a church. They begin to discuss the more serious aspects of a relationship. She says having a family is important to her, and they both want one. The two really click, and Rachel claims he gave her the boost she needed. She believes she will end up falling in love with him.
Love Conquers All
The men are relaxing on the boat when a date card is delivered. “Love conquers all, but not without a fight,” writes Gabby for Nate, Kirk, Quincey, Erich, Michael, Mario, Spencer, and Johnny. At dinner, Jason and Gabby are hoping to establish some common ground that will demonstrate their compatibility. He explains to her that as a child, he constantly felt inadequate, and as a result, he takes longer than most people to open up. Additionally, he has improved his ability to advocate for himself through therapy. She discusses her problems with her mother, the fact that they don’t get along, and the therapy she has gone through to deal with it. She tells Jason that she recognizes a lot of herself in him and expresses her gratitude for having the date with him.
It’s time for Gabby’s group date, where the guys will be fighting over her attention. The men are exerting themselves to the fullest. She will go on a date with the winner, and there will be a rose involved. To engage with Gabby’s date, Rachel brings her guys along. Rachel is annoyed that her guys are there supporting Gabby’s guys and ignoring her once more. Spencer ultimately prevails and gets to spend time with Gabby. The two become friends over their shared military upbringing over dinner. In the meantime, Rachel is by herself and is extremely disappointed that her guys ignored her once more.
The Day After
The following day, while out on a date, Rachel and her men walk into a room where two people are having sex. The focus of today’s date is romance and pursuing Rachel. She must smell their underarms, they must French kiss into their hands, and finally, they must write love letters to her. Tyler really stood out during the group date, so Rachel decided to spend the evening with him. He expresses to her how grateful he is that he was able to write her a heartfelt love letter.
He claims that they had a serious relationship, were prepared to settle down, and had even purchased a home together when she dumped him, claiming she couldn’t handle it. He worries about getting hurt once more. He hears from Rachel that she recognizes so much of herself in him. She believes that the journey to finding your person is so worth getting hurt for. He tells her that she is the reason he appeared on the show, not Gabby. They embrace. Tyler is making Rachel incredibly happy, which is a great feeling. Her gift to him is a rose.
