Naofumi Iwatani is an unremarkable Otaku, spending his days immersed in games and manga. He has little ambition or interest in the world outside his hobbies.
But his life takes a drastic turn when he is suddenly summoned to a parallel universe. In this new world, Naofumi learns that he is one of four heroes chosen to save the world from an impending apocalypse. Each hero is given a legendary weapon, and Naofumi’s weapon is a shield—considered the weakest of the four.
