Naver is a South Korean online platform operated by Naver Corporation. It debuted in 1999 as the first web portal in South Korea to develop and use its search engine. It was also the world’s operator of the operator of Hangame, a popular online game portal until it merged with NHN Japan to form LINE Corporation in 2013. Today, Naver continues to be the dominant search engine in South Korea, holding over 70% of the market share.
