For the new readers, Swordmaster’s Youngest Son is an Action/Adventure Manhwa that follows a story of a young boy (Jin Runcandel) who had lived a life of a failure in a prestigious family (Runcandel), But as things started looking brighter… He dies and restarts his live over, only this time retaining all the memories he had when he died the first time. This manhwa is certainly not reinventing the wheel, but the execution of character interaction and fights are truly exceptional work done by Azi & Lee Je-Won.
Cosmos competition is a fighting competition hosted by pirates. Ron Hairan’s grandson, the future patriarch of the Hairan family, “Dante Hairan” also registered with an alias (Paul Mick). Upon Chiron Runcandel’s orders, Khan sends Jin Runcandel to the competition. Chiron Runcandel stated Jin needs to prove himself with a sword as the descendant of a Runcandel. Chiron found this the right opportunity to do so as Jin Runcandel wouldn’t be able to use magic and shadow energy as he would under the watchful eyes of many people.

Chapter 68 starts off with the Veradin Zipfel discussion with the Zipple family elder. The elder handed Veradin an important pendant to keep hold of, as he is destined to be the future patriarch of the Zipple family. The elder also sent Veradin Zipfel to the cosmos competition to gauge the kind of fighter Dante Hairan truly is. Upon Veradin’s arrival, he was also surprised to see Jin’s participation in the matchups as well, making it worth his while.
Meanwhile in Jin’s resting cell. While Jin was resting before his next match. We see Dante Hairan himself walk into Jin’s cell, limping, roughed up, and tired, wanting a night of sleep and requesting Jin to stand guard in the promise to return the favor in the future. Jin was on guard for obvious reasons… But Dante’s fatigue was genuine, as he pummels to the ground before he even could complete a sentence.
Jin complies through his action, as he kills everyone that followed Paul Mick, in an attempt to kidnap a Runcandel to swindle some money. However, once Dante woke up, his immediate loathsome view to be addressed as a Runcandel was visibly shown, not knowing the fact that the one who saved his life was a Runcandel.
Paul Mick later confirms he was a nobility of an unspecified family (Hairan) but not a Runcandel. Upon hearing Dante ramble, Jin went to sleep informing Dante to wake him up for the group 13th match. At the end of Chapter 68, we see the genuineness in Dante’s eyes for having made a new friend. Could this friendship last once they face each other?
Chapter 69 starts with the bracket matchups commencing. Yet nothing much has changed, both the fierce competitors overcame their brackets with little to no effort. The pirate king (Luffy?) Cosmos made minor adjustments to the matchups to build more hype by sacrificing all the mid to low-range fighters to entice to crowd to start betting on Dante or Jin. As much expected from an event organized by Pirates.
The popular amount of audience supporting Dante. Over a few of them, including Veradin betted in favor of Jin for 10000 gold. Could this be a patriarch’s instincts? Regardless, the most anticipated match is about to begin as the announcer calls upon the names of both fighters. Unfortunately, the chapter ends right as in when they made their first sword clash.
