In their idle times, they used to arrange dates for themselves in different cities. This is what made Stephan and Johnnie think thoroughly about the new swiping culture of America and how it varies location by location.
Calling the show rom-doc, Ingram and Stephan made a huge announcement of releasing Swiping America in 2023 which will encircle the lives of four New Yorkers, using dating apps and meeting new people in eight different cities of the USA. According to the creators, Swiping America is not a competition reality show and will not consist of any manufactured drama. This “all-inclusive” show which features queers, trans, lesbians, and non -binaries, will be only followed by the camera while the New Yorkers meet and date new people.
Swiping America Episode 2: Recap
After enjoying dating in Ashville, in episode 2 of Swiping America, the New Yorkers made their way to Miami to meet some new and exciting love interests. The episode opened up with Kesun, Kris, Reagan, and Ashleigh meeting two couples, Norman & Sandy, and Art and Joan, to get some relationship advice. Both couples gave some insider tips about how their romance is still blooming even after so many years of their relationship and wished all luck in finding their future partners.
On their way home in Miami, Reagan introduced some unique facts about the city of Miami, about how it is open to the queer community and welcomes romance. We see Ashleigh still communicating with Jordan but does not find any kind of intimacy between them. At night, all the New Yorkers started swiping on the dating app to get ready for the love-filled days in Miami. All four New Yorkers matched with numerous people and went on dates with a few.
Kesun spent her time with Amiel, Dustin, Derek, and Larry, while Kris went on 6 dates, including Luiz, Enda, and Derrek. Reagan quickly found herself connected with Don, and among all the seven dates she had, Don was the one whom she discussed her 14-year-old daughter with. Talking about Ashleigh met Michelle, Zad, and Sam, and she couldn’t stop blushing and smiling after her amazing date with Zad.

Reagan went into flashbacks when she first moved to New York and married a man she loved at the age of 22. Soon after a year, she gave birth to her daughter, Piper, who was born with a rare syndrome that restricts her from living and communicating like a normal person. Reagan expressed that she does not talk about Piper on her dates because she finds it emotionally difficult. Finally, Kesun, Kris, Ashleigh, and Reagan chose the ones they wanted to go out with again.
Kesun went on a beach date with Larry, where he hilariously shared some moments about his childhood. Kesun seemed the happiest with him as she was continuously laughing and even Larry confessed that he was having a good time with her. Ashleigh who was mesmerized by the beauty and personality of Zad met her again to know if things can move forward. Soon, both Zad and Ashleigh confessed that they were surprised when they saw each other for the first time.
As for Kris, he first wanted to ask Luiz to go on a date, but he did not receive the responses he was expecting. So, Kris decided to ask Derrek out. Reagan met Don again for dinner and told him everything about her daughter Piper. While leaving, Reagan promised Don that she would hang out with him again. Kris spent an evening with Derrek, and their romantic conversation led them to share a dreamy kiss.
