It’s season finales time at all major networks! And today, it’s time to do a recap on Hondo’s crew. So, let’s cover SWAT Season 5 Episode 22. What a shocker episode. All we can say —for now—is that it was full of action —and drama! When these dudes and gals aren’t out with their guns and gear against the bad guys, they surely have a complicated personal life, and we sure love it!
This season finale was titled “Farewell”, and in this episode, lots of things happened, like Chris saying goodbye, and Hondo getting a piece of news that will change him forever. And a terror attack worthy of a movie! And what about Lina Esco! So, let’s unpack this without further ado, and let’s dig into this episode SWAT-style!
SWAT Season 5 Episode 22 Recap
Street awoke in bed with his fantasy girl. He’s had feelings for Chris for a long time. He was relieved that she had finally admitted that she had affections for him and that the two had finally slept together. Chris attempted to sneak out before Luca arrived home, but Luca arrived early and spotted the two of them together and was thrilled for them.
He even wants to give them a high-five. Chris had to put a stop to that one. She also told him not to tell anyone because it was Chris’s last day, and neither she nor Street wanted rumors to ruin it. They planned to be open about their relationship, so they quit working together formally. Not previously. Chris and Street wanted her last day to be memorable.
Chemistry Lab Troubles
Later, the crew was called to a tense scenario at a university chemistry lab. Someone — we don’t know who— had been fired due to a disciplinary process and returned for vengeance, and they forced the class to manufacture deadly explosives that may kill thousands. He then withdrew with the others, leaving the case and their professor with one of the bombs. However, SWAT arrived on the spot. They rescued the folks who had been left for dead by the assassin. They learned about it from the professor who conducted it. Joseph Reid was his name. He ordered the rest of them to construct a nerve gas that required one more component. The hospital might have that component.
Hospital Visit
The team visited the hospital. Someone had stolen several of their goods, and security tape revealed Reid’s roommate assisting him. The team discovered this about the same time they started hunting for Reid. Instead, they found the roommate, who attempted to spray them with something but only managed to spread himself. On the other hand, Reid was fleeing, and he wasn’t the only one. He had an entire crew working with him to create this nerve gas. This was considerably more serious than kids getting irritated off at university. The question was why these young men were contemplating a terrorist act.
Tracking Down The Bad Guys!
Hondo and his squad eventually tracked down one of the men involved when he attempted to launch a chemical assault on a Marine recruitment building. So Hondo made the man stay in the building without a mask to find where the gas was hidden. The terrorist disclosed the location. They were able to locate it and re-cap it. Reid, however, was not satisfied with merely visiting one place.
They communicated with Reid using his friend’s burner. They informed him that the plot had failed, and he stated that everyone would pay. Everyone who welcomed his uncle but then abandoned him to be slaughtered by the Taliban will pay. The uncle functioned as a translator. The crew discovered the military force he was aiding and found that the unit was now in Los Angeles. They decided to meet on the Queen Victoria ship to observe Fleet Week. Nichelle was another individual that joined the team.
A Happy Ending
Nichelle informed Hondo that she was attending a class to learn more about the ship. Hondo couldn’t reach her, so he called his father to confirm she was on the boat. His father stated that she did. He also informed Hondo that Nichelle was expecting a child. He had detected anxiety in his son’s voice and wished to tell him that Nichelle was in danger. So Hondo dashed in to save his pregnant girlfriend. He came across Reid and his final companion. They were able to stop both guys, but not before Reid threw one of the ship’s gas tanks into the structure. As a result, Hondo and Luca went after it.
Luca was exposed to the gas, but Hondo had an antidote on him and was able to prevent the gas from killing Luca. Overall, Chris had a fantastic last day. She eventually surrendered her gun and badge. She also went out for drinks with the team when they all found out that Luca would be baby Hondo’s godfather.
