A new Nintendo leak claims a Super Metroid remake is nearing completion, while a separate Star Fox adventure game could also be in development for Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo Switch 2 could reportedly receive more revivals of classic franchises, according to claims circulating from the mysterious leaker known as Malo932. Among the projects allegedly in development are a Super Metroid remake and a new Star Fox adventure game, although Nintendo has yet to confirm either project.

The rumors have attracted additional attention because Malo932 has previously made several Nintendo claims that appeared to line up with subsequent announcements. However, the latest information remains unverified and should not be treated as an official Switch 2 game announcement.

Super Metroid Remake Could Be Close to Release

According to Malo932’s reported claims, Nintendo is working on a remake of Super Metroid, the 1994 Super Nintendo classic starring Samus Aran. The leaker has reportedly suggested that the project is “close” to completion, with other reports indicating that it could use a pixel-art visual style.

Nintendo currently makes the original Super Metroid available through its Super NES library for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, giving players access to the classic version rather than a modern remake.

The rumor has also circulated on Reddit, where users tracking Malo932’s previous claims have associated the alleged remake with MercurySteam, the studio behind Metroid: Samus Returns and Metroid Dread. That developer connection remains speculative, however, and there is no official confirmation of the studio’s involvement.

Star Fox Could Get Another Adventure

Malo932 has also reportedly claimed that a new Star Fox “adventure” game is still in development. The timing is notable because Nintendo recently released Star Fox for Switch 2, a heavily enhanced take on Star Fox 64 featuring new presentation, gameplay modes and multiplayer features.

The rumored project therefore, appears to be separate from Nintendo’s recently released Switch 2 title. If the claim proves accurate, it could potentially represent another attempt to expand Star Fox beyond its traditional space-combat formula.

For now, neither the Super Metroid remake nor the alleged Star Fox adventure game has been announced by Nintendo. With Nintendo’s September presentations approaching, fans may not have to wait long to discover whether any of these rumors become reality.
