Super Junior’s Kyuhyun recently addressed the comments he made about parking fees during his transition from SM Entertainment to Antenna, providing clarity on the situation. Appearing on SBS Power FM radio’s ‘DinDin’s Music High,’ aired on January 22 KST, Kyuhyun explained the context behind his earlier remarks and explained.
During the broadcast, the topic of ‘SM parking fees’ was brought up, prompting Kyuhyun to address the controversy surrounding his lighthearted comment. He clarified, “I made that comment in a lighthearted manner, but it stirred up quite a controversy. I thought it was important to explain.”
Kyuhyun elaborated on the situation, revealing that in the past, while at SM, he used his car for schedules that were not registered with the company. As a result, he covered his parking expenses, which were later reimbursed through a settlement process.
Upon moving to Antenna, Kyuhyun initially found the change in the parking fee process unusual. He shared, “After leaving SM and moving to Antenna, I heard that we were now paying the parking fees with our credit cards. I initially found this unusual, but then I learned that the company also rents the building, and all employees, including myself, were responsible for paying the parking fees. I realized I had been mistaken about the situation.”
The Super Junior star had sparked attention during a ‘Knowing Bros’ appearance on January 20, where he humorously expressed disappointment about being asked to pay separate parking fees at Antenna.
Shedding light on SM’s reaction to his comments, Kyuhyun explained, “They were understandably upset, but they simply explained that everyone pays parking fees, whether for registered company vehicles or unregistered employees. We apologize sincerely for the misunderstanding. I wanted to clarify this matter for everyone,” Kyuhyun concluded.
