The Brazilian web series Stupid Wife, developed by Nathália Sodré, based upon a short story, continues to tell us the romance story between Luiza —played by Priscila Reis— and Valentina —played by Buiar Priscila—, two law students with an entirely different background that makes you wonder how is it that these two fell in love in the first place. Faced with love, memory loss, and a search for her past, Luiza must now face a series of emotional challenges this season.
Now in its sophomore season, there’s a lot more to unpack because Luiza is coming to terms with the fact that her amnesia made her forget how she ended up married to Valentina, that a decade has gone by, and must trust how Valentina says they met, fell in love, and what her demeanor should be. What can possibly be the reason why Luiza fails to comprehend her true feelings as she gets more in contact with Valentina?

Stupid Wife Season 2 Episode 1 Recap
The debut episode of the sophomore season of Stupid Wife, titled “Silence,” picks things up months after the Christmas special in which Valentina had that beef with her mom, the truce, and the uncomfortable episode at that dinner table. We see how Valentina and Luiza are getting along on their day-to-day, with Valentina having the reins of the relationship while Luiza comes to realize a few things.
Firstly, most of her feelings, demeanor, and expectations are, in many ways, under Valentina’s tutelage. So, while things seem to be going along, Luiza begins to have what seems like an identity crisis. She doesn’t remember a thing, and she’s looking for answers in the back of her head.
It’s not only the emotional aspects but also the functional aspects; some menial things like driving seem to be having an emotional toll on Luiza; besides the obvious memory loss, amnesiac patients also have a level of mental instability and have executive dysfunctions for everyday issues because their hard drive, if you think of their memory like that, was wiped clean.
We see some of that when Valentina is talking to a friend in the living room of her house, and Luiza comes in from therapy and feels distraught and emotionally disconnected, which also takes a toll on Valentina because she feels for her. Regardless of those rough patches, the two seem to get closer and more emotionally connected at times, but it’s as though everything is an emotional rollercoaster with these two. How will Luiza’s search for meaning affects their relationship will surely have a lot to do with how the next episodes will unfold in this web series.
