Reportedly, Sondheim had been working on this musical since 2012. There were a lot of speculations about the work, as he was collaborating with many new artists like David Ives,  Sierra Boggess, and others. However, even in his last interview, he had confessed that it was still a work in progress.

After the relationship ended after eight years, Sondheim had soon found his second love. Jeff Romley was a Broadway actor and is 50 years younger than the composer. The couple got married in 2017 when it got legal for the same sex to marry each other. Last it was reported that both of them were staying in Connecticut.

Another thing that worried the fans was Sondheim’s eye. During the later years, everyone started noticing that the composer’s one eyelid drooped a lot. When asked about the reason, Sondheim had said that when he was a teenager, he required glasses. However, he did not wear them. When he became 25, he could not even see the film credits on the screen. Finally, he got his contacts. When he started to age, his right eye’s power became extremely strong, and the left eye extremely weak. This, in turn, caused one of his eyelids to droop that heavily. Some of the people were afraid that he might become blind. However, he was not blind even in 91.
