STARGLOW has kicked off one of its busiest seasons yet with the release of its new single “Drivin’ My Life,” marking a fresh musical direction for the fast-rising Japanese dance and vocal group. Released on July 20, the Japanese-language single introduces an Afrobeats-inspired sound while serving as the starting point for a series of major projects, including new music videos, the group’s first live DVD and Blu-ray, additional arena performances, and a Summer Sonic 2026 debut.

The release arrives just months after STARGLOW established itself as one of Japan’s fastest-growing acts. Formed through BMSG’s audition series THE LAST PIECE, the five-member group has gained momentum both domestically and internationally following its January 2026 debut. With “Drivin’ My Life,” the group is embracing a more relaxed musical style while continuing to expand its presence through new performances and multimedia releases.

‘Drivin’ My Life’ showcases a new Afrobeats-inspired sound

Unlike the group’s previous releases, “Drivin’ My Life” adopts a stripped-back production designed around a laid-back summer atmosphere. The song focuses on enjoying time with friends and moving through life at your own pace, delivering a breezy sound that reflects its road-trip theme.

Production comes from ANG, the Mexico-born, Los Angeles-based DJ and producer duo known for blending Afrobeats with electronic influences. The collaboration gives the single a distinct musical identity while highlighting STARGLOW’s willingness to experiment with new genres.

The release also includes “Good Boys Anthem,” accompanied by an action-inspired music video directed by Hiroshi Shinagawa. Rather than relying on traditional performance scenes, the members underwent real action choreography to create a cinematic visual experience.

Fans also receive a new STARGLOW version of “GOTH,” originally used as the theme song for the drama Gate on the Horizon (GOTH). The series starred members RUI, TAIKI, and KANON during their trainee days, making the new recording a meaningful callback to the group’s journey before its official debut.

STARGLOW continues its rapid rise with major summer plans

The new single is only the beginning of STARGLOW’s summer schedule. Just a week after the release of “Drivin’ My Life,” the group will launch its first live DVD and Blu-ray, STARGLOW DEBUT SHOWCASE “Wish upon a Star.”

The group will also continue its “STAR CRUISE” fan meeting tour with additional arena performances before making its first-ever appearance at Summer Sonic 2026, one of Japan’s biggest music festivals.

STARGLOW’s rapid growth has attracted attention across the music industry. Shortly after debuting in January 2026, the group became the only Japanese act selected for NME’s “100 Artists to Watch in 2026.” Their second single, “USOTSUKI,” reached No. 1 on the Oricon Weekly Digital Singles Chart and No. 2 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, while also earning nominations for Best New Artist and Radio Rising Artist of the Year at the Music Awards Japan 2026.

Comprised of RUI, TAIKI, KANON, GOICHI, and ADAM, STARGLOW continues to build momentum at an impressive pace. With a new musical direction, multiple high-profile releases, and major festival appearances, the group’s latest single signals another significant step in its expanding career.
