The manga was released on 25th March 2019 and till now has been released its 9 tankobon volumes. An anime adaption of the manga was announced for April 2022 and was released on 9th April 2022. It was produced by Wit Studio and Cloverworks Studio and directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi.

The protagonist of the series is a secret agent named “Twilight”. He is tasked to spy upon the leader of the extremist political party, Desmond. Spy x Family Episode 1 Recap
The anime series Spy X Family premiered on 9th April 2022, with its first Episode titled “Operation Strix”. Its the very first Episode and begins with Westalis’s diplomat dying in a car accident, and later this matter was getting discussed in the assembly. They perceive that this was a planned assassination carried out by a certain someone. So, in order to get a thorough view of their plan, they assigned their top agent, “Twilight” to do his part. They wanted him to keep an eye on the leader of the Ostania’s National Unity Party, Donovan Desmond. Since that man is very cunning, Twilight was asked to form a family to keep close to Desmond. To meet this purpose, he also needs to adopt a child and get them enrolled in the same school as Demond’s son Damien. So he formed a fake identity with the named Loid Forger and adopted a young girl named Anya.
However, something seems off about this child that Twilight was unaware of. Anya was an esper. While the new father and daughter were settling in, Anya accidentally sent Transmission to a minister of Ostania Edgar. As a result, she ended up being kidnapped by Edgar’s men. Twilight formulated a plan to reduce Anya by disguising himself as one of Edgar’s goons and blackmailing Edgar by using his daughter Karen. Twilight rescued Anya and warned Edgar to stay out of his business. Later, Twilight decides to get a better home for Anya so that she can have a better life than he had when he was a child. Anya was happy to be with him, and they got along to find a new home.

Spy X Family Episode 2 will release on 16th April 2022 and is titled “Secure a Wife”. As the title suggests, in order to get into the Eden Academy, Twilight now needs to have a wife. As the preview of Episode 2 says, he will try to meet some women in order to select a good one to be his wife and Anya’s mother.
