Spookiz has officially returned with a brand-new season, Spookiz: Breaking the Curse, bringing the globally popular 3DCG character animation back for another supernatural adventure. The first episode, titled “Back to School…?”, premiered on Friday, October 2, through the official Spookiz YouTube channel.
The new season arrives as the franchise continues to demonstrate its enormous international reach. According to Sony Music Labels, Spookiz had more than 6.44 million YouTube subscribers and over 3.4 billion total views as of September 29, 2026. The announcement of Breaking the Curse throughout September also generated strong interest from fans waiting for the characters to return.
The new season continues the story established in Spookiz: Monsters Awakening, which sent the characters to Japan after a Monster Hunter threatened their peaceful school.
Spookiz: Breaking the Curse Continues the Monster Hunter Story
The first episode brings the characters back to their familiar school setting, where they once again encounter the Monster Hunter. The reunion sets up the next stage of the story while reconnecting the new season with the events of the previous adventure.
The season’s prologue follows the Spookiz after they are overwhelmed by the Monster Hunter. Mr. Reaper sends them on a journey to find Tengu, an ancient monster who can help them become “true monsters” capable of protecting their friends.
Their journey takes them to Japan, where Kebi, who had been transformed into a child during the battle, reunites with Cula, Frankie, Kongkong, and Zizi. The group eventually trains under Momo, a Tengu monster, while receiving assistance from Kapper, a Kappa.
After overcoming their challenges, the Spookiz restore Kebi to his original form and strengthen their friendship. However, their return marks the beginning of another threat rather than the end of their journey.
New Spookiz Episodes Will Release Every Two Weeks
Spookiz: Breaking the Curse premiered at 9 AM EDT, 2 PM BST, and 10 PM JST on October 2. New episodes are scheduled to arrive every other Friday, although the release timing could change following the end of Daylight Saving Time.
The series remains primarily distributed through the official Spookiz YouTube channel. The franchise features five central characters: Cula, the mischievous Dracula, Frankie, the food-loving Frankenstein, Kebi, the energetic Goblin, Kongkong, the playful Chinese Ghost, and Zizi, the shy Zombie.
Unlike dialogue-heavy anime series, Spookiz primarily uses short, non-verbal animated stories built around the characters’ personalities and visual comedy. Sony Music Labels Inc. owns the Spookiz character content.
With more than 3.4 billion views already recorded, Breaking the Curse gives the franchise another opportunity to expand its global audience while continuing the supernatural adventures of its five monster characters.
