Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 players have plenty to look forward to following Focus Entertainment’s latest June Community Update. Announced through the publisher’s official X account, the update offers fresh details on Year 3, the upcoming Patch 14, expanded mod support, and the game’s ongoing community event.
In its post, Focus Entertainment invited players to
“give it a read for more sneak peeks at Year 3 and Patch 14 content, an exciting Mod Support announcement, and fresh updates [on] the PTS and current live Event.”
While there will be no community update in July, the developers packed this month’s post with several major announcements, including new weapons, additional bosses, cosmetic content, and a long-requested feature for console players.
Year 3 will introduce new weapons, bosses, and Chaos content
The biggest reveal concerns Year 3, which will continue expanding Space Marine 2 with free gameplay additions alongside paid cosmetic content.
Players can expect two new weapons: the Absolvor Bolt Pistol, described as the signature weapon of an upcoming class, and the One-Handed Thunder Hammer, which replaces the previously planned Greatsword as the next melee weapon archetype.
Year 3 will also add two new Operation bosses and expand Chaos gameplay by introducing a new Chaos-focused spin-off of Siege Mode, allowing players to use Chaos Space Marine characters that were previously limited to PvP.
On the cosmetic side, Season Pass 3 will include new Champion Packs and Chapter-themed cosmetics. The first Champion arriving in September will be a Space Wolves Wolf Guard Champion, while a long-requested Deathwatch Champion has also been confirmed. The Exorcists Chapter will receive its own Cosmetic Pack, and another Champion DLC is planned for the upcoming new class.

Patch 14 brings new maps, enemies, and Heroic weapons
Before Year 3 arrives, players will receive Patch 14, which introduces two new PvP maps—Facility on Demerium and Sanctum on Avarax.
Chaos Operations will also become more challenging with the addition of the Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer, a new Terminus enemy for the Thousand Sons faction.
Patch 14 further expands the game’s customization with six additional Heroic weapon variants, including the Stalker Bolt Rifle, Power Sword, and Power Fist. Season Pass owners will also receive the Salamanders Champion Pack 2, featuring a Heavy Champion with a Salamanders-themed Multi-Melta skin, alongside the Raptors Cosmetic Pack.
Steam players will be able to test the update on the Public Test Server in early July before its wider release.
Console mod support officially announced
Perhaps the most surprising announcement is that official mod support is coming to consoles. According to Game Director Dmitry Grigorenko, the rollout will happen in multiple phases, beginning with full Steam Workshop integration before eventually expanding to console platforms.
The developers acknowledged that the feature is a “massive undertaking” but said work has already been underway for some time. The team also reiterated its commitment to supporting the game’s growing modding community by improving available tools.
In addition to these announcements, Focus Entertainment reminded players that the current Siege Mode Community Event remains live until July 1, rewarding participants with 100 Accolades for completing 30 waves.
With Year 3 already taking shape, major gameplay additions on the horizon, and console mod support officially confirmed, Space Marine 2’s post-launch roadmap continues to expand well beyond its first year.
