SharkDog is an American children’s CG animated TV show aired by Netflix. Jacinth Tan Yi Ting creates the show with Wong Ai Koong and Yuyun Garnasih as the editors. The show is renewed for a third season, and the first episode will start airing on April 2023.
The first season of the show premiered on September 3, 2021, followed by a second season on June 30, 2022. Both seasons received average reviews and remarks from viewers and critics, with the first season ending with an IMDb rating of 6.4/10. The show was announced for renewal on January 18, 2023.
A dog is a man’s best friend, but a shark is not exactly a man’s friend, so what happens when we mix the two and create a SharkDog? Will it be friendly, enemy, or frenemy? In SharkDog, the children’s series, 10-year-old Max has a best friend, a SharkDog.
SharkDog is unaware of its strengths and general shark characteristics, and this causes trouble wherever he goes. The series deals with the troubles and chaos Max and SharkDog go through.
The plot of Sharkdog Season Two
As mentioned, the series, Sharkdog, the first of its kind to come out of Singapore, follows the adventures, mostly troubles, of 10-year-old Max and his loyal companion Sharkdog. Since it’s a children’s show, it has episodes that are very simple, and they usually resolve the conflict that arises within the episode itself.
The first episode of the second season of Sharkdog saw Sharkdog, our protagonist, trying to snake into school and get into trouble. It also had other plots in the same episode.
In the second episode, the ever-hungry Sharkdog snacks on the new guest of the aquarium. It also finds Sharkdog becoming a block wood when Max wants to win a race. One of the plotlines of the third episode involves Max’s mother spying on Sharkdog to write a story.
The fourth episode involves Sharkdog proving himself, something he had to do in the previous episodes too. Sharkdog and Captain Quiggly race to the mountain to watch the meteor shower. In this episode, we also see our Sharkdog bothered by something that seems to bother a lot of dogs, fleas.
In the fifth episode, our main duo meets Max’s father’s boss and hopes to impress him. Sharkdog also somewhat becomes a star when he owns the spotlight and attention of everyone at a shoot.
And to end the season, the show makers decided to break the little ones’ hearts a bit by making Sharkdog disappear a bit. We adults know he will be back, but when it happened, the kids were probably very sad.
A special episode that was released as an additional and not part of any season was released on October 15, 2021. The episode is titled ‘Sharkdog’s Fintastic Halloween.’

Cast of Sharkdog
Max is voiced by Liam Mitchell, Sharkdog is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker(who also worked on Start Trek: Prodigy), Grey Griffin plays Max’s mom, and Josh McDermitt, familiar to some from ‘The Walking Dead,’ plays the role of Max’s dad.
Sharkdog Season 3 Episode 1 Release Date
Though we are not sure about the time of the release of Sharkdog, it was announced on January 18, 2023, that the third season of the children’s TV show, Sharkdog, will premiere its third season on April 27, 2023. The enthusiastic and impatient viewers do not have to wait much longer for the new season.
