Despite the fact that Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD finished its seven-season tenure on ABC, the show’s devoted fans are still hoping for a return to the Marvel Universe. This follows the victorious returns of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock from Netflix’s Daredevil in Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home, respectively.
Agents of SHIELD appeared to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at first, but as the seasons progressed, the show gradually drifted away from the franchise’s interrelated storyline. Regardless, the rumors surrounding the possible return of some or all of the show’s characters, including Daisy Johnson, a.k.a. Quake, played by Chloe Bennet, isn’t going away anytime soon. Bennet has already declared her desire to be a part of the MCU’s All-Female A-Force initiative, prompting fans to question if she will ever return. Now, this Agents of SHIELD star has teased a fun yet interesting tease on social media.
Shang Chi And Agents of SHIELD Crossover Tease
Fans of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings have shown interest in a team-up between such fan-favorite Marvel characters. Chloe Bennet, who portrayed S.H.I.E.L.D. Member Daisy Johnson, on the popular Marvel series for seven seasons posted a series of photographs with Shang-Simu Chi’s Liu at a picnic table. Making fun of the order in which they made their live-action appearances. “Oh look, it’s Marvel’s very first Asian superhero..and also Simu Liu is in the photograph too,” the Marvel TV actress captioned the photo.
It’s unclear why the two uploaded a photo of themselves on social media, but it’s possible they were aware that it would stoke suspicion among Marvel lovers about a possible MCU crossover. Following the image’s popularity, lots of new fan responses poured in, sparking a heated debate regarding the significance of the two Marvel stars’ photographs. Simu Liu and Chloe Bennet appear to have anticipated that a photo of them together would be a major topic of discussion among Marvel fans. It did not disappoint, according to the reactions of admirers.
Chloe Bennet
Despite the fact that Bennet debuted on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Skye, a cyber expert recruited by Phil Coulson, it was shown in Season 2 that she was the daughter of renowned Marvel superhero Quake. Daisy’s biological parents were revealed to be physician Calvin Zabo, nicknamed Mr. Hyde, and Inhuman leader Jiaying at the same time. Through Terrigenesis treatment, the fan-favorite hero gains seismic powers, just like her comic counterpart.
The critical success of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. led to Marvel not only recasting Quake as an Inhuman but also altering her comic book design to match Bennet. Daisy/Quake is also voiced by the actor in the Marvel Rising animated TV series, where she is an Inhuman S.H.I.E.L.D. officer who later joins Captain Marvel’s Secret Warriors squad.
Simu Liu
Liu first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021 as Shang-Chi, a part he publicly advocated for on Twitter as early as 2018. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s new Quake, take creative freedom with Shang-Chi’s past, owing to his original comic dad being the racist Asian cliché villain Fu Manchu. Instead, Wenwu and Xu Xialing, new versions of Shang-Chi’s dad and sister, were developed, and both were well-received. Shang-Chi’s popularity resulted in the announcement of a sequel in November, with director Destin Daniel Cretton set to return.
Shang Chi And Quake Team Up Theories
The possibilities are infinite now, especially after Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio’s unexpected comebacks. Bennet recently debunked a Marvel return on Disney+. On Secret Invasion, Bennet could make a triumphant return, but this fresh image could hint at a possible connection with Liu’s MCU hero. Shang-Chi has already been confirmed for a sequel, owing to the success of the first film. It’s probable that if Bennet appears in that movie, she’ll have established herself as Daisy Johnson. The signs suggest that the Ten Rings’ inventor may be on his way to Earth to claim the treasure.
As a result, Shaun will require all of the assistance he can obtain, resulting in the creation of the Agents of Atlas. Quake is a leading candidate to join the aforementioned squad, which is comprised of Asian and Asian American superheroes. Is this the first hint at Shang-Chi and Quake’s impending MCU team-up, or is it merely a tease to confuse fans? Only time will tell if this is true. For the time being, fan reactions may serve as a signal for Marvel Studios to explore this crossover.
