Late multi-millionaire Shahzada Dawood hailed from a beautiful city in Pakistan named Rawalpindi. Born in 1975, Dawood was only forty-eight years old when he passed. Many who were not even aware of him and his business now know of him and his young son as two of the passengers of the Titan, an OceanGate-launched submersible that imploded in deep waters while on its way to the wreck of Titanic, as was seen in the news recently.
Dawood was not only an extremely successful businessman and investor but was also a great philanthropist. He grew up in an environment that was full of successful people, including his sisters, Azmeh and Sabrina Dawood, and his grandfather, Ahmed Dawood, also the founder of their family’s business, Dawood Group.
Dawood himself is known to have been a student at Buckingham University, which is also the place where he got his LLB degree from. After this, he also went on to get a Master’s degree in global textile marketing from Thomas Jefferson University. His education and experience that he gained through years of working got him the title of Young Global Leader back in 2012 at the World Economic Forum.
He has been influential enough to be invited to the 2020 United Nations session on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, where he gave a speech on the same. He is known to have been married to Christine Dawood, and the couple even had two kids together. He is known to be born in Pakistan, but he also had Maltese and British citizenship.
Though not much is known about his personal life, we do know that the man had immense love and appreciation for photography, especially one that involved wildlife and that he was an adventurer when it came to exploring different habitats. Unfortunately, his adventure trip with his son to see the wrecks of the 1912 sunken ship Titanic turned out to be his last adventure ever.
The entire implosion of the submersible named Titan has created a huge issue among the public, with many questioning the company, OceanGate’s legibility.
