There’s no other show that takes us through the tasty world of Barbecue like BBQ Brawl. Airing on Food Network since August 2019, this cook-off series is guaranteed to make you want to crave all kinds of BBQ delicacies that are featured on the show. BBQ is something that many households do on a usual basis, so when a show that just focuses on Barbecue started airing, it’s no surprise that people wanted to see more of it.
New seasons of BBQ Brawl have been released each year, with the latest fourth season airing episodes since July 10th, 2023. Set to feature more contestants and new judges to taste the diverse BBQ dishes, the fourth season has managed to gather more attention than its previous seasons.
Over the years, the hosts of BBQ Brawl have been popular chefs and TV personalities from Food Network, like Eddie Jackson, Rodney Scott, Carson Kressley, and Anne Burrell. While the previous seasons were filmed in Austin, Texas, the latest season is going to be taking place mostly in Half Moon Bay, California.
BBQ Brawl Season 4: Hosts & Judges
The fourth season of BBQ Brawl has new judges, hosts, and a new number of contestants that will be trying their best to win the title of the next “Master of Cue.” The presenters of BBQ Brawl season 4 are Bobby Flay, Anne Burrell, and Sunny Anderson. Bobby Flay is a well-known TV Personality who’s already shown that he’s a pretty great cook.
Filming for the 4th season began in April 2023, with Symon revealing that he wasn’t going to be on the show. Symon has not been a presenter for BBQ Brawl since its 3rd season.
While this was sad news to many, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that they would be featuring an exciting 90-minute episode for its season premiere. Sunny, Flay, and Burrell were made the mentors for BBQ Brawl season 4.
Coming to the judges, who taste the dish and select the winners, Rodney Scott, Brooke Williamson, and Carson Kressley will be playing this significant part in the barbecue show. This alignment of judges has remained the same since season 2 of BBQ Brawl.
BBQ Brawl Season 4: Contestants
Twelve new skilled chefs were selected to be a part of BBQ Brawl season 4. While they are great at what they do, these BBQ chefs must make sure that they can win for their team while also gaining the title of “Master of cue” for themselves. The contestants of season 4 include:
- Ami Cisneros
- Brian Duffy
- Chris Binotto
- Chris Williams
- Christie Vanover
- Chuck Matto
- Dominique Leach
- Harold Villarosa
- Ippy Aiona
- Kate Neville
- Larissa Da Costa
- Robert Smith
Ami Cisneros, one of the contestants, is a Chef/Owner of El Barbecue in San Diego, California. Having graduated from San Diego Culinary Institute, Ami knows complex techniques and unique flavors that can make a dish stand out. Chef Binotto is another talented chef that works in Los Angeles.
Larissa Da Costa is from California too, and was brought up in North Brazil, which is why she is going to be familiar with a lot of flavors. Almost all of season 4’s contestants have been successful in their respective careers as chefs and restaurant owners.
Every one of these contestants can be considered the best of the best, with them being popular in their local areas for their good food. However, staying on the show and impressing the judges is not easy. They have to adapt to each of the challenges they are presented with on BBQ Brawl and manage to come up with good Barbecue dishes within the time limit.
Anne Burrell will be trying her best to win this season once again, while Bobby is going to go all out with his new team in hopes of not being defeated by Team Anne for the second time. Sunny Anderson will be coaching these BBQ chefs now too. Although she’s new on the competition show, Anderson’s not going to leave empty-handed. She brings in new flavors and recipes from her hometown that are guaranteed to help her team members.
Season 4 of BBQ Brawl can be streamed on platforms like Food Network’s website, Discovery Plus, and YouTube TV.
