In the previous chapter of Sengoku Komachi Kuroutan: Noukou Giga, Shizuko asks the young man who had been injured in a fight against the slave traders to let her treat him. The man is very much against that since he doesn’t want to appear weak, probably due to his pride as a warrior. Shizuko coerces him to come along with her to her estate, where she uses modern technology to treat the young man’s wounds. The man thanks Shizuko, and she asks him to come back in 10 days to remove the stitches.

When the ten days pass, Shizuko patiently waits for the young man to show up, but he doesn’t appear. One of the workers tells Shizuko that the young man will not be able to visit her, and he has sent a letter to explain everything. Shizuko readers the letter and realizes that the young man’s parents have fallen ill. Suddenly, Shizuko hears familiar voices come from outside, and she rushes to see four known faces – Hattori, Honda, Sakakibara, and Toukugawa commenting about the delicious smell coming from the kitchen.

Shizuko seats the four men and serves them the dish she had been making, known as Castella. The sweet dish was quite delicious, and everyone enjoyed the texture, complimenting the delicacy.
