The young mage asks him a question in response: what he lacks, and what would make his tears stop? He mentions that he would like to have power. He says that he will cut down more trees with that power and buy a present for her.
This was when the mage cast magic. It pooled in her heart. With this, the Lumberjack now has more power, and he can cut down a whole lot of trees. With this, he was able to buy her a beautiful hairpin. He says that he can only give such simple things to her with the money he can make by cutting down trees.
Lumberjack says that he wants to earn more money with the help of this power, and in order for that to happen, he must have to leave this place, however, he also says that he doesn’t want to leave her behind.
The young mage was ecstatic and replied that she would go anywhere as long as it was with him, and she soon left with the Lumberjack, ignoring the pleas of the Elder Mages.
The young mage was extremely happy with this; she found out that the life of a mercenary was tough, but he was together with the one he loved. However, one day, the Lumberjack shed tears and kneeled in front of the young mage once again.
