Sydney Sweeney is a kind of Gen Z favorite in projects ranging from TV shows like Euphoria and White Lotus (actually, it’s not TV, it’s HBO, heh) to films where she recently advanced to lead roles like the retro rom-com.
Anyone but You, hosts tonight’s episode. Her fame and significant attractiveness played a factor in the movie’s recent sleeper success. Oh, and she’s also made a respectable name for herself as a scream queen. She originally tried out for Immaculate back in 2014, and it’s her most recent project! That means Sweeney has a lot of wind in her sails.
Recap
A subdued cold open is ushered in by Dana Bash (Heidi Gardner). As Michael Longfellow, the governor of California, rightly notes, people ought to consider Joe Biden’s accomplishments rather than his age.
His personal rigor and suitability for government are attested to by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre (Ego Nwodim), Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas (Marcello Hernandez), and Draymond Green (Devon Walker). Bash looks at it all with suspicion.
She presses them, saying there must be a problem even in the absence of proof. The media’s overblown narrative that his age is a concern needs to be investigated. The commentary isn’t particularly appealing to me. A little lackluster—Jon Stewart recently performed a program on this topic.
Mikey Day reappears for a brief moment as Biden. I’m not sure if that impression is effective for me. I was recently discussing this with Jeff Richards, a former cast member of Saturday Night Live. On his podcast, he recently performed against another imitation of Joe Biden.
“It was hard to keep up with my Biden, Mike MacRae,” he remarks. This interview, with Jimmy Fallon playing the quick-witted, magically delicious role, was a tennis match not to be taken lightly. “Capturing the president’s natural comedic energy and genuine nature” is the secret to a successful Biden imitation.
Sweeney makes jokes about attending her mom’s Trump-themed birthday celebration. She desires for people to learn more about her. She also makes light of Ozempic and the ludicrous internet stories that surround her. Naturally, there is an allusion to her breasts. I suppose that was unavoidable.
She had a sweet moment talking about her fiancé, then the scene cuts to Glen Powell, who plays her costar in Anyone but You, who is in the crowd. I apologize! Sweeney’s attire, according to Richards, is the best. Because Sweeney and Chloe Fineman, two police interns, are 22 years old and have instant access to the internet, they are able to swiftly resolve cold cases.
With 22 hours of screen time every day, Fineman’s character has some amusing online habits. Similarly, Sweeney’s speech pattern almost seems like a parody of her annoying White Lotus persona. James Austin Johnson had a humorous moment as well. Our boys feel depressed.
They just lost one of their buddies. Sweeney enters to offer them consolation. It appears that the deceased was thrown into the Grand Canyon by a donkey that gave him a kick to the nuts. That’s not all, though. While Sweeney struggles to maintain her cool, the scenario keeps getting hilariously worse. Ad for Chef Boyardee!
