With this, Kaoru Kamiya exclaims to Kenshin that they are speaking of irritation, it is also about his age because she thinks that although he looks so young he is actually a 28-year-old guy, and that is why she believes that that is a lie, because that is way too young to be a previous Imperialst, as well.
This was when Kenshin asks her if it will be alright if he was over 30, but she says that she doesn’t want that, and Kenshin says that she is so selfish.
Later in the episode, we see Kenshin and Kaoru walking through the road, where he says that there is no use in fretting because he believes that the students will come back in due time, that they will.
However, she says that he is right but even to practice, there is nobody there, and that is why she has to head out, and because Kenshin will not even look her way, however, he says that he just can not get used to bamboo swords.
When they were still talking about it, we see that a kid crosses Kenshin, where Kaoru notices that he has pickpocketed Kenshin, and then grabs him. When the kid shouts and addresses Kaoru as an ugly hag, she says that he is so rude, because most of the people of the town call her the swordsmanship sweetheart.

On the other hand, Kenshin surprisingly says that if he got pickpocketed that it is his fault, and then gives his purse to the kid while telling him that he should not get caught next time.
However, this kid out of frustration, throws the purse on Kenshin and says that he is not a kid, and mentions that he is a descendant of a Tokyo samurai, Yahiko Myojin. He has not sunk so low as to be pitied by others, and he has simply pulled a prank on him, only because Kenshin has got the nerve to be wearing a sword, and that is why they should not get him wrong.
With this, Kenshin says to the kid that he still has the guise of a child, however, his heart can stand its own ground. Kenshin than apologizes to him saying that he had underestimated him.
