RuPaul’s celebrity drag race is an American reality competition series that streams on VH1. However, instead of contesting for the hopes of slaying hands on the crown as the next drag superstar, the new spinoff includes celebrities competing for charity. While the first season aired in 2020, the second season took a hit due to the pandemic and was recently streamed in August.
The contestants are covered under tons of makeup and ginormous wigs to hide their secret identities. A lip-sync performance then ensues where each performer is eliminated in the subsequent rounds, and the last standing contender wins the masquerade.
The battles are fun to watch. Tom Hollands’ lip-sync performance holds no candle to these, or it might be a close second.
How Is The Second Season Different From The First?
A group of 3 contestants has been changed to 9. While the challenge earlier was short-timed, the new season primarily features a season-long ongoing competition. The identity is revealed once the performer is no longer a part of the competition.
It’s been speculated that the new format bears some resemblance to the TV series – The Masked Singer. Some people even like the new season better than the previous one, claiming a more interesting format.
