Rosé, member of the global sensation BLACKPINK, continues to solidify her place in music history with her latest accomplishment.
On February 7, 2025, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) officially certified Rosé’s collaboration with Bruno Mars, the hit song “APT.,” as platinum.
This prestigious certification, awarded after the sale of 600,000 units, marks not only a remarkable achievement for Rosé but also sets new records in the K-pop industry.
Notably, “APT.” has become the fastest song by any K-pop artist to reach platinum status in the United Kingdom, accomplishing this milestone in less than four months.
The previous record holder was BTS with their hit “Dynamite,” which took a year to achieve platinum.
This new feat places Rosé in an exclusive club, as she becomes the first female K-pop artist, and only the third K-pop artist overall, to earn the BRIT platinum certification.
The only other K-pop acts to achieve this are PSY with “Gangnam Style” and BTS with both “Dynamite” and their collaboration with Coldplay, “My Universe.”
Rosé’s achievement underscores not only her growing international success but also the global impact of K-pop, with “APT.” being a testament to how the genre continues to break barriers and reach new heights on the global stage.
Fans worldwide are celebrating this historic accomplishment, and Rosé’s contribution to K-pop’s expansion into the UK market has been marked as a milestone in her solo career. Congratulations to Rosé for this incredible achievement!
