Romelia War Chronicle has revealed its new main visual, second trailer and theme songs ahead of its October 2026 anime premiere. Based on Ryo Ariyama’s novel series published by Shogakukan, the upcoming fantasy series takes an unusual approach to the traditional Demon King story by focusing on what happens after the final battle.
The anime will stream as a two-cour series beginning in October 2026. The newly revealed visual shows Romelia Von Graham alongside members of the Romelia Squad, weapons raised as they face another threat beneath a clear blue sky. The imagery reflects the series’ central theme of rebuilding rather than simply celebrating victory.
The second trailer is also now available, offering a closer look at the conflicts Romelia faces after the Demon King’s defeat. It features both the opening and ending songs and expands on the story’s postwar setting.
Romelia Must Rebuild a World After the Demon King’s Defeat
The story begins after Romelia and her fiancé, Prince Henri, defeat the Demon King Zelgis following a long and difficult journey. Instead of receiving the future she expected, however, Romelia is surprised when Henri immediately ends their engagement.
Her personal rejection comes as her homeland remains devastated by years of warfare. The defeat of the Demon King has ended the central conflict, but it has not restored the lives, economy or stability destroyed during the war.
Romelia therefore decides to create her own path forward. She begins organizing a military force and works alongside the knights who become part of the Romelia Squad, while attempting to restore the country and establish a peaceful future.
Her efforts eventually draw her into political conspiracies and new conflicts. The series consequently shifts the focus from defeating an ultimate fantasy villain to the difficult process of rebuilding a society after a catastrophic war.
The original Romelia War Chronicle story began on the web novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō before receiving a novel publication and manga adaptation. The original novel and comic have collectively surpassed 550,000 copies in circulation, according to the production announcement.

The manga adaptation, titled Romelia War Chronicle: The Count’s Daughter Rallies an Army in the Wake of Mankind’s Victory, is published by MAG Garden. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the English edition, with its first two volumes currently available.
New Theme Songs Highlight the October Premiere
The newly announced opening theme is “AKATSUKININARU” by Chogakusei, while KOHTA YAMAMOTO performs the ending theme “Nightfall feat. Maika Loubté.” YAMAMOTO is also handling the anime’s music production, with PONY CANYON responsible for music production.
Atra is producing the animation, with Koji Saito serving as series director and Takahiro Hirata as assistant director. Aya Satsuki handles the screenplay and series composition, while Yoshiko Saito and Yuta Otaka oversee character design.
