Return of the Legend Review
Return of the Legend manga has a fairly clichéd beginning, but it can hold readers’ attention with its steadily developing plot. The manga’s plot is compelling, and its artwork is stunning, even though it isn’t fully original. Rebirth of the 8th Circled Mage Season 1’s first season’s art style has some appeal, notably in the way it portrays the protagonist’s immaturity as a young person.
The plot follows the protagonist as he attempts to use his prior work experience to produce a successful web novel to raise money for his stock investments. For our main character, it’s a fortuitous series of events that pave the way for his ambitious goals. His change from a frail and insecure man to a tall, gorgeous Korean man adds an intriguing dimension to the narrative and upends the established order with his sincere benevolence.
The manga does not have a lot of magic, but the martial arts components give it plenty of excitement and action. Our hero looks to be the only person in Korea who possesses this remarkable talent that the gods have given him. The manga mostly centers on the main character’s negotiations, investments, and battles, with the addition of two girls who fall in love with him: an aspiring idol and his childhood crush.
The main character’s focus is still mostly on earning and spending money, despite having many luxuries. Even his quest for justice is ultimately satiated by financial gain. He even speaks directly to the reader in certain panels, highlighting the power of money and how it is the solution to every problem. Although this may at first seem unimportant, it adds an intriguing element to the story and asks readers to reflect on the value of riches and how it influences the protagonist’s journey.
The protagonist of the manga gradually reveals that, especially when young love interests are involved, he can occasionally behave inconsistently in terms of intelligence and demeanor. It becomes clear that the main character is drawn to teenage girls despite his adulthood, which creates some difficult situations.
However, as the females begin to show interest in him once more, the protagonist changes into a rambling fool with animated facial expressions and a stammer. This turning point enhances the protagonist’s likeability and attractiveness while lending the story a Shounen-like atmosphere.
Return of the Legend, a manga series, finally moves over its early clichés to tell a story that only gets more engrossing. The artwork, despite being identical to other series, has some charm, particularly in how it depicts the protagonist’s growth and immaturity. Even if magic takes a backseat, the incorporation of martial arts aspects makes for exciting action.
Despite how trivial it may seem, the protagonist’s obsession with money adds an intriguing element to the narrative. Although the protagonist’s transformation from an adult to a shounen-like character has some contradictions in his intelligence and attitude, it adds depth and relatability. Return of the Legend manga is a wonderful option for fans of action-packed and profit-driven adventures due to its developing plot and compelling characters.
