Resident Evil Accounts for 61.6% of Capcom’s Estimated $617M Steam Revenue in 2026

Capcom is having a remarkably strong year on Steam, with the Resident Evil franchise accounting for 61.6% of the publisher’s estimated $617 million in Steam revenue during 2026. The figures come from Alinea Analytics analyst Rhys Elliott, whose September 8 analysis examined Capcom’s performance across its PC catalog and recent releases.

The estimate puts Resident Evil firmly at the center of Capcom’s PC business. The franchise’s contribution is particularly notable because Capcom has continued generating substantial revenue from older titles alongside new releases, demonstrating the long-term value of its established IP.

Resident Evil Requiem Is the Biggest Contributor

According to the Alinea Analytics figures, 32.6% of Capcom’s estimated Steam revenue comes from Resident Evil Requiem and its DLC alone, representing more than $200 million. That makes the 2026 survival horror release a major component of Capcom’s overall Steam performance.

Capcom’s own financial results demonstrate the strength of Requiem beyond the Steam estimates. The company announced in March that the game had surpassed 6 million copies sold worldwide, reaching the milestone faster than any previous Resident Evil title.

The broader franchise has also benefited from its extensive catalog. Capcom’s financial data shows that games including Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 7, and Resident Evil Village continue contributing significant sales years after their original launches.

Capcom’s estimated $617 million Steam haul is not solely dependent on Resident Evil, however. Alinea estimates that 49.1% of the company’s Steam revenue comes from games released before 2026, highlighting how its older catalog continues to generate substantial income. Meanwhile, Pragmata has reportedly generated approximately $60.5 million on Steam, accounting for 9.8% of Capcom’s estimated total.

The performance illustrates why Capcom has continued emphasizing its extensive library alongside new releases. With Onimusha: Way of the Sword also contributing to the publisher’s 2026 lineup after surpassing one million copies shipped, Capcom’s strategy of combining established franchises, new games, and long-selling catalog titles continues to produce significant results.

It is important to note that the $617 million figure and the 61.6% Resident Evil share are Alinea Analytics estimates, not figures officially reported by Capcom.
