We’re starting to connect these storylines together as we witness Kate’s growing memories of her daughter in “141 Seconds,” which is heartbreaking. I also loved watching Harry learn more about The Greys and their master plan. And that cliffhanger!
There’s no way Harry will go quietly into the night. “141 Seconds” is another hilarious installment of Resident Alien, with a few heartbreaking and heartwarming moments sprinkled in for good measure. Season 3 is significantly stronger than its predecessor. It’s more cohesive and focused.
Recap
Kate (Meredith Garretson) is seated in a nursery when we first meet her. She rocks her baby, smiling fondly at her daughter. That is until The Greys pull her from Kate’s clutches. Kate implores to spend more time with her kid. And this time, she begs them not to erase her memories. Oh my, this is terrible.
Later, we witness Dan (Gary Farmer), D’Arcy (Alice Wetterlund), Dan (Alan Tudyk), and Asta (Sara Tomko) seated in the latter’s diner before to its opening. Dan chastises Harry for permitting Asta and Joseph to go on a date. Asta tells her father that she made this decision on her own. He is informed by D’Arcy that Asta was secure because she was her fallback.
In another scene, Deputy Liv (Elizabeth Bowen) and Sheriff Mike (Corey Reynolds) attempt to come up with ideas for who should be in the picture with Peter Bach. With the late alien tracker, who was in the van? Mike speculates that the person’s stance suggests that it might be a mime. Mimes are quite intelligent.
They have the ability to attack without warning. Killer mimes on the attack, anyone? Liv advises them to get in touch with Lena because the fingerprints in the van did not match. She is connected to every federal agency with three letters. Liv does this even though Mike doesn’t like it.
While Mike scribbles updates about his life to give to his ex, she leaves Lena on voicemail.Harry appears at their door, a bag in his hand. He conjures up a heartbreaking tale about losing his parents. What if Max experiences the same thing and is made to consume Ben and Kate? Harry can be eaten by Max if he’s present.
That makes sense to me. Kate welcomes him into the (somewhat of) welcoming vacation group. Afterwards, Harry and the Hawthornes get to the lodge where they will be staying. Ben and Kate are happy that Harry no longer recites every Law & Order episode word for word.
Max approaches our resident alien and inquires about his intentions. Harry keeps his mission to investigate The Greys’ headquarters a secret. Liv then makes her way into The 59, where D’Arcy works behind the bar and Judy is going about her obligatory karaoke responsibilities.
Liv displays to D’Arcy the picture of Peter Bach that shows Harry’s arm wrapped in plaid. D’Arcy acts as though she has no idea who Peter is. Judy puts a kiss on a napkin for Liv to deliver to Mike before she leaves. But not before she wiped it under her arms as well. The aroma is everything.
