Kadokawa’s Harta magazine announced a special memorial project for the late manga creator Nami Sano. The project has three parts and will begin this summer.
First, an art exhibition showcasing Sano’s works will premiere in Tokyo this summer, followed by a subsequent display in her hometown of Nishinomiya, Hyogo prefecture.
The second part of the project will feature a collection of Sano’s previously unpublished works, spanning from her early creations to a spinoff one-shot of “Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto.”
Kadokawa plans to release this collection in August. Additionally, the 116th issue of Harta magazine will feature a special tribute to Sano, with contributions from fellow manga creators and a short story from her collected works.
Nami Sano passed away in August 2023 at the age of 36 after a brief battle with cancer. She was known for her debut series Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto, which ran from 2011 to 2015 and inspired a popular anime.
Sano’s other notable work, Migi & Dali, was serialized from 2017 to 2021 and also inspired an anime that premiered in October.
