Pony Canyon announced that Mirage Queen Vacances Elegantes, the new anime film based on Kaoru Hayamine’s Mirage Queen novel series, will premiere in Japanese theaters next spring.

They also released a teaser visual featuring the main characters, Mirage Queen (disguised as Countess Angelique von Perigord) and Joker, with their airship, Troubadour, in the background.

The story follows the phantom thief Queen, whose age, gender, and nationality are unknown, as they travel the world with their partners Joker and RD, stealing anything they desire.

The Mirage Queen series began with a short story by Hayamine in 2000, followed by the first full-length novel, Mirage Queen Prefers Circus, in 2002, illustrated by K2 Shokai.

The most recent novel was released in July 2021. The novels have caught the attention of the readers with their adventurous stories of the elusive Queen and their companions.

Last June, the series received its first screen adaptation with the original video anime Mirage Queen Prefers Circus. Yūga Yamato, known for his role as Tuxedo Mask in the Sailor Moon stage plays, starred as Queen.

The project was directed by Saori Den at East Fish Studio, with a script by Mariko Kunisawa and character designs by Kumiko Kawashima. The music for the anime was composed by Moe Hyūga.

The anime Mirage Queen Prefers Circus was licensed for streaming by HIDIVE and was released in Thai theaters by Japan Anime Movie (JAM) Thailand on February 3, 2023.

Fans of the series are eagerly anticipating the new film and the continuation of the thrilling adventures of Mirage Queen and their crew.
