Mercenary Queen Cha Heera’s intuitions came true as we saw the true intentions of Song Jungwook in the last chapter, but evil as it may be, it’s nothing compared to our protagonist Lee Kiyoung as he once again proves that he’s a real menace. Song believed from the start that Lee was following his plans, but he was fooled by Lee himself and ended up in a death trap.
Regressor Instruction Manual Chapter 80 was released on April 3, 2023, and marked the end of the rock guild leader Song Jungwook and his evil ideas to legalize the elf slave market by none other than Lee Kiyoung. Regressor Instruction Manual Chapter 81 is just around the corner, and we are going to witness yet another acting performance from Lee as he expresses his “sorrow” over the death of his “fellow comrade.”
Regressor Instruction Manual Chapter 80: Recap
The battle to protect The Great Kesslock is underway, and everyone in the Blue Guild and Red mercenaries is giving it their all to keep the monsters at bay, but the rock guild has decided to fall back on the orders of Song Jungwook as they started getting overwhelmed by the monster hordes. This retreat by Song is a part of Lee’s plan, and so he orders Cho Hyejin to carry forward the next steps in the plan to get rid of Song once and for all.
Hyejin decides to frame Song for trying to disobey the vice guild master by saying that he only demanded the reinforcements to retreat, and so the retreat from the rock guild is suspicious. Song gets shocked upon hearing these allegations as he thinks about why Lee would abandon him on the front lines, but he gets interrupted by Hyejin as she continues her allegations.
Hyejin blames Song for trying to assassinate the vice guild master, which startles Song as he doesn’t understand what she’s talking about. Hyejin explains that she and Lee went elf slave market to free those poor elves, but they got attacked by the coachmen hired by Song, who then tried to assassinate the vice guild master, Lee. Hyejin grabs Song’s collar and threatens to kill him if it does justice for all the horrible deeds he has done.
Song pushes her away as he gets angry at her vile ways of delivering justice, and he blames her for trying to form a wedge between him and Lee when he suddenly hears Lee’s voice in his mind. Lee tells Song that what Hyejin is saying is nothing but a script that he wrote, which shocks him. Song’s subordinates ask him what’s wrong, but apparently, no one other than him can hear Lee’s voice.
Song asks if he did something wrong to deserve this, but Lee refuses to elaborate and makes an entrance at the scene. Song now realizes that Lee knows about his plans, and so he doesn’t have any other option than to beg for his life now. He gets on his knees and bows in front of Lee for mercy while crying out loud. Seeing all this commotion, Lee decides to reward him for his help with the monsters by allowing him to be the hero who died while protecting Kesslock(Lee truly is a menace).
Song gets enraged at such decisions of Lee and decides to kill him at this instant while also warning Lee of the potential harm to his image if everyone finds out that Lee killed him. Lee explains that they are in a blind spot, and so no one would ever know a thing about this. In this place, it’s just Cho Hyejin, the rock guild, Lee, and the horde of monsters.
Hyejin kills all of Song’s subordinates while Lee laughs at his miserable state. Song boils with anger and rushes toward Lee to kill him, but he gets smashed to a bloody pulp by a random monster marking his death. Lee prepares for his acting and starts fake crying while thinking of how he’ll use the black market now.
