FLOW and ASTERISM Perform the Theme Songs
The Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship! anime has revealed its opening and ending theme artists ahead of its October premiere. FLOW will perform the opening song “Unstoppable,” while ASTERISM will perform the ending theme “My Way.”
The two songs bring different musical styles to the series, with FLOW delivering its signature rock sound and ASTERISM adding a heavier metal influence. Together, they match the anime’s action-packed sci-fi setting and fast-paced space battles.
Alongside the theme song announcement, the production also confirmed that the anime will air on Tokyo MX, Yomiuri TV, and Chukyo TV in Japan. International audiences will be able to stream the series on Crunchyroll.
From Web Novel to Anime
The series is based on Ryūto’s light novel, which first began as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform in 2019. It was later published in print by Fujimi Shobo, with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima.
Since then, the light novel has grown into a long-running series with 16 volumes, while a 17th volume is planned for release after the anime premieres. A manga adaptation illustrated by Shinichi Matsui has also been serialized through Kadokawa’s ComicWalker since 2019. The growing popularity of both the light novels and manga helped pave the way for the upcoming television anime adaptation.
The story follows Satou Takahiro, an ordinary gamer who suddenly wakes up inside the universe of his favorite space game. Taking on the identity of the mercenary Hiro, he finds himself piloting a powerful customized starship.
As Hiro explores the galaxy, he accepts dangerous missions, rescues people in need, and battles space pirates while trying to survive in an unfamiliar world. Blending science fiction, action, comedy, and isekai elements, the series follows Hiro’s adventures as he builds a new life among the stars.
Production Details Finalized Before October 2026 Premiere

Sound direction is handled by Jin Aketagawa, with Kenta Higashiohji composing the series music.
