The Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles have jointly pledged $10 million to the Baltimore Community Foundation’s Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge fund, as announced on the Ravens team website.
Each franchise contributed $5 million to the fund, which aims to assist in the recovery efforts for families, first responders, port workers, communities, and small businesses affected by the Key Bridge accident on March 26.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the victims of this tragedy and their families,” stated Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti. “We express our gratitude to the first responders for their bravery and tireless efforts.
“The Ravens are privileged to offer support to the Francis Scott Key Bridge recovery initiatives and the affected Maryland families and businesses. We are confident that Baltimore and Maryland will continue to demonstrate tremendous spirit and resilience during this challenging time.”
New Orioles owner David M. Rubenstein, who acquired Baltimore’s MLB team in late January, also issued a statement.
“The resilience of our city has once again been put to the test,” Rubenstein remarked. “Under the guidance of Governor Wes Moore, and in partnership with the Ravens, the Orioles are making this contribution to assist those who sustain our city, our state, and our nation.”
