Rap Sh!t is like all hits, no misses, and this season 2 is incredibly good. I think they really focused on what the show was about. But I was just thinking to myself, watching Episode 7 of the second season, we got so much character development.
I’m glad they dropped Shawna’s college stuff. I thought about how much time was spent on Shawna’s college boyfriend and her dreaming about the life that she thought she was gonna have type thing and dropping that to really focus on the grind and what they’re doing now is like opening up this series in so many ways.
Rap Sh!t Season 2 Episode 7 Recap
Before diving into Rap Sh!t Season 2 Episode 8, let’s quickly talk about the show. I think Shawna’s old stuff is boring. I would just say that hearing about her struggle with “I don’t know if I wanna be conscious, I don’t know if I wanna make fun of music,” I was like make the music you wanna make. If you wanna make fun of music and make money, do that. If you don’t, don’t do that.
But we’ve gotten past that, and it took the entire first season to get past it. But now that we have Shawna and Mia as a rap duo trying to navigate the industry with Chastity on its side, that is what we came here for. Episode 7 was the penultimate episode, so I got a lot of questions about how we are gonna end this and then what we’re gonna do with season three because I’m assuming there is one.
But I haven’t heard any news about a third season quite yet. This is the same thing that happened in the second season. It wasn’t announced until, I think, after the show actually ended. So we might have to wait a little bit, but I will be keeping my eyes open.
Hopefully, I cannot imagine they won’t give this another season. Because there’s no way in one episode, we wrap this story up to where I’m satisfied. Because they ain’t made it big, their relationships are on the rocks. Shawna still might go to jail, and the rumor is that she might go to jail for murder.
I’m saying that there’s a lot of story left that we’ve really developed in these first two seasons. And now, as we go into the end of Season 2, I’m thinking, “OK, well, we don’t have an end game yet, so there’s no way we’re about to wrap this up.”
I think the real problem here is that the writer strike happened, right? And so I’m pretty sure these people have just been sitting around on their hands waiting to find out if they got a job. And so, during the strike and when all the creators and the actors are all striking, nobody is writing season 3. That’s what I would have to assume.
I think there have been a lot of series that have gotten canceled because of the writer strike. You have these shows that are smaller and doing pretty well, but because of the strike, studios are losing money, and they might not feel like bringing the whole team back.
That’s happened to several Netflix series like Shadow and Bone. A lot more happened in previous episodes, but now let’s discuss when Episode 7 of Rap Sh!t Season 2 will be released and what will happen in it.
Rap Sh!t Season 2 Episode 8 Release Date
Rap Sh!t Season 2 Episode 8 will be released on 21 December 2023 on HBO Max. This Episode is titled “Under Construction”. At the time of writing, 8 episodes are scheduled for this second season of Rap Sh!t, but we think there will be only 8 episodes like the previous season, so this will be the last episode.
The Synopsis for Episode 8: “Shawna and Mia have to make a final decision about their loyalty to Francois or Chastity when faced with opposing options; Maurice and Shawna confront the music, while Mia has an unsettling wake-up call at Melissa’s birthday celebration.”.
