Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Trailer has been released, and fans are truly curious about the same. Thus, we have decided to do a breakdown for you guys. This is an upcoming spinoff series that has been commissioned by Netflix for their platform. It will serve as a prequel spinoff to the very popular Netflix series Bridgerton.
As the title already suggests, fans are going to witness Queen Charlotte in the lead, but as the trailer makes it obvious, we will witness her before she is even married to the King of England. There obviously is a lot to uncover about her past and the history of London society, which, as Lady Danbury made clear, was not so progressive before this marriage.
We saw her explaining to Duke Simon back in season 1 that the marriage between Charlotte and the King ended racism in the society, and the dark-skinned people were given more authority than they were before. Well, there are other loose ends in their story as well, which we have picked up from Bridgerton.
We saw how the King is almost never seen, and the one time that he did come onto the screen to have dinner with Charlotte, he was acting crazy and talking about their daughter. Although, by the looks of it, it was a sore subject for Charlotte, and she kept avoiding the King or waiting on for his death which was weird.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Trailer Breakdown
Well, coming right into the trailer, we are going to witness Charlotte going to England to be inside the palace and meet with the King. Although, she hates every bit of it and does not want to marry at all. When she is getting ready inside the palace, the King’s mother comes to meet with her and tells her that her only purpose for this union is to make a lot of babies for the King and her son.
Also, we will see the older Charlotte coming in and telling her story, so maybe it can be assumed that everything is going on in the past tense, whereas the current version describes her story and she came to be. Although, this is just an assumption, and we can not say anything for certain.
There are many characters from the original show whose younger versions we will see on the screen. One of them is Brimsley, the Queen’s butler, who is often seen bringing her the Lady Whistledown’s paper. Queen has not seen the King at all, and their marriage is already arranged without any agreement from them at all. Thus, young Charlotte will be seen trying to ask everyone if the King is deformed in some way or looks like a monster because what other reasons do the royals have to hide their own blood and not let him be seen in public, right?
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Plot
Well, soon, we see in the trailer that the couple meets in a very comical and true Bridgerton manner. It was when Charlotte was trying to climb over a wall to escape, but it was the King who stopped her. Here, they begin their romantic chemistry and fall in love.
Although it is obvious that there are some greater powers in play that are trying to sabotage their bond and wedding and it would be interesting to understand the side of antagonist forces as well. Because let’s face it, society was not so progressive at the time, and to see the King marrying a woman of color might not be everything that some of the public wanted.
Along with the romance and family drama, Charlotte has not become a Queen after marriage, and George is a King, and they have various royal duties together. This might either make their marriage or break them for good, as is seen in the trailer where George is trying to avoid her for some reason.
Young Lady Agatha Danbury is also introduced to the Queen when she gives her positive and unfiltered suggestions and advice to the Queen as she still does in the current days. Also, King’s mum is furious about how the marriage isn’t yielding children as she truly wants. It would be a whole lot of drama and nothing less than what we expect from the story.
