Alright, no one wants to pit two strong, successful women who carry the Western pop music industry against each other. Especially if they’re globally worshipped pop stars Beyoncé and Taylor Swift. However, Forbes has recently released their prediction of how much Beyonce’s latest world tour will gross, and how it may be $500 million more than Taylor’s expected revenue from her “Eras” Tour.
The past year has been a wild ride for both the Beyhive and Swifties. With new music releases and a world tour announcement, both fandoms have been in a frenzy, trying their best to get a peek at their idols in concert. Naturally, since Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are household names in the world of American pop music, their music and tours are bound to meet success, as is happening right now.
Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” Tour and Taylor’s “Eras” tour have officially taken off, and their concerts have been sensational, to say the very least! Estimates of their ticket sales and possible profits have been released, and there seems to be a disparity between the two tours’ revenue generation, owing mainly to factors unrelated to popularity.

The Renaissance World Tour
Having starved for three years, the BeyHive went completely feral back in February of this year when Beyoncé announced the Renaissance World Tour by posting on her Instagram account. With more than forty city stops spanning North America and Europe, the Renaissance World Tour is predicted to break records with its revenue this time.
From projections of this tour’s ticket sales, we can infer that there are just too many Beys and too few tickets for all of them. Anticipated to be one of Beyoncé’s biggest tours so far and one of the biggest in music history so far, it is expected to bring in a revenue of three hundred million USD, according to Billboard, excluding the additional shows that were added due to the sheer demand for tickets.
By Ticketmaster’s statistical information, this world tour saw 800% more demand than supply when it came to ticket sales in several locations. Naturally, this also set the ball rolling for all the hotel prices in the concert vicinity to shoot up. Beyoncé’s impact is just immeasurable and was not something that those who were managing ticket sales could foresee.
Despite all the extra precautions to prevent excess website traffic, several web pages hosting sales and presales, including Ticketmaster, crashed due to the millions of users that were simultaneously grasping at a chance to attend Beyoncé’s concert.
Nevertheless, the Renaissance World Tour officially set sail with a big glamorous show at its first stop- Stockholm, Sweden, on May 10, 2023, and reviews are filled with nothing but praise for the queen.

Taylor Swift And The Eras Tour
The “Eras” tour is one of the most talked-about concerts from the past year due to its extremely huge demand and the controversy surrounding Ticketmaster. Completely caught off-guard due to the magnitude of the number of fans who were desperately trying to purchase tickets for the tour, Ticketmaster’s site crashed and left chaos and mismanagement in the distribution of tickets.
Ending in August, the tour has already broken a lot of records and has bagged an ungodly amount of revenue. The tour is still continuing and is projected to be Taylor’s biggest concert ever.

Forbes’ Prediction
With both being this past year’s most iconic and popular tours, one cannot help but crunch the numbers and guess the staggering amounts of earnings and profit the two may bring in.
Forbes, a media and publishing company, predicted a possible outcome earlier this week regarding Beyoncé’s tour revenue. They pointed out that although the average rate for tickets to both the tours is around the high price of seven hundred USD, Beyoncé could make $500 million more than the projected 1.6 billion USD Taylor is set to make from her “Eras” tour, that is, almost 2.1 billion USD!

In an optimistic stretch of possibilities, Forbes even predicted that even if they consider the highest possible revenue from both concerts, Beyoncé would still outearn Taylor by five hundred million USD, with Beyoncé bringing in 2.4 billion USD and Taylor raking in 1.9 billion USD.
They elaborated further on the topic and found that the disparity in gains had to do with the two stars’ difference in touring strategy.
They speculated that the core distinction between the business strategy for both tours lies in the sale of merchandise. While Taylor has a colossal amount of merchandise on sale online, Beyoncé’s online merchandise sales are relatively far less and might be an indicator that she sells merchandise in larger numbers offline at her concerts. “Tour-specific” merch selling may be a strategy that Beyoncé has adopted, and well, it seems to be working.
At the end of the day, it’s a win anyway for Beyoncé, Taylor, and the non-broke Swifties and Beys!
