Princess Margaret’s love life has been one of the most interesting and energizing plot points of The Crown so far. In season one, we watched as she fell in love with her dad’s previous Equerry, Group Captain Peter Townsend, just to be kept from wedding him without giving her royal title. Then, she was charmed by society photographic artist Anthony Armstrong-Jones in season two.
Presently, unfortunately, season three is set to show the breakdown of that marriage, as the Snowdons float endlessly further apart, eventually prompting their divorce and separation. While both are happy with extra-marital affairs, we know that one relationship, specifically, is set to be focussed on, that of Princess Margaret and her lover, Roddy Llewellyn. To be sure, photos of them on vacation in Mustique imprinted in the sensationalist newspapers prompted the declaration that the marriage was finished.
The couple was presented at the Cafe Royal in Edinburgh in front of a party at Colin Tennant’s home by his wife, Lady Anne Glenconner. Furthermore, Roddy was a 25 years of age aristocratic gardener, while Princess Margaret was 17 years older than him at 43. An improbable couple, most definitely, they hit it off and soon went into a secret relationship.

How Margaret And Roddy’s Relationship Is Exposed
Two years into their relationship, Margaret and Roddy both wound up themselves invited on a similar occasion to Mustique. Despite the usual security-managed cost of the Caribbean island’s A-list visitors, the News of the World was some way or another, ready to get photos of the pair swimming in the ocean and, in any case having a good time. After the release of these photos, Lord Snowdon reportedly told Princess Margaret’s press secretary the marriage was finished.
The separation was finished two years after the fact, in 1978. Following the destruction of Princess Margaret in the press (she was named a ‘floozy’ and ‘savage’), Roddy put out his own announcement, defending his activities: ‘I’m not ready to comment on the events of last week,’ he said. ‘I much regret any humiliation caused to her Majesty the Queen and the royal family, for whom I wish to communicate the best respect, deference, and loyalty.’

Llewellyn Attempts To Launch A Music Career In 1978
In 1978, Llewellyn delivered a pop collection named Roddy. Unfortunately, his music career never took off, particularly since the media demanded getting some information about his relationship with the princess rather than focusing on his music.
Margaret And Llewellyn Break Up
After being in a relationship for eight years, Princess Margaret and Llewellyn called it quits. In July 1981, he wedded Tatiana Soskin, the little girl of filmmaker Paul Soskin. The couple has three little girls together: Alexandra, Natasha, and Rosie. From that point forward, Llewellyn avoided the spotlight, but in 2002, he considered their relationship in a meeting. He said, “I didn’t contemplate the outcomes of such a high-profile affair,” he said. “If we all had crystal balls, we’d all realize which horse to back, couldn’t we? I was simply leaning on my instinct. In Princess Margaret, I found a fine companion who could consistent my fretful nature and proposition wise direction.”
