Prime Video’s Barbershop Series Gets First Teaser Ahead of February 2027 Premiere

Jermaine Fowler leads the new comedy series as Travis “Trav” Walker, who returns to Chicago to continue his grandfather’s legacy at Calvin’s iconic barbershop.

Prime Video has revealed the first teaser trailer for Barbershop, a new comedy series inspired by the popular film franchise. The teaser was revealed during CultureCon on October 3, 2026, giving audiences their first look at Jermaine Fowler and Brett Gray in the upcoming series.

Barbershop is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on February 10, 2027, with all eight episodes releasing at once. The series will be available across more than 240 countries and territories, giving the franchise a global streaming debut.

The new series brings the familiar barbershop setting back to Chicago while introducing a new generation of characters. Fowler stars as Travis “Trav” Walker, who returns to his hometown with the goal of preserving his grandfather’s legacy.

However, Calvin’s barbershop is no longer exactly as he remembers it. Trav must adapt to a new group of barbers, longtime customers and a changing Chicago while attempting to figure out where he belongs.

JERMAINE FOWLER LEADS A NEW BARBERSHOP CREW

The series combines workplace comedy with the conversations and community dynamics that have defined the Barbershop franchise.

The cast includes Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., E.J. Bonilla, Bresha Webb, Bokeem Woodbine, Tiana Okoye and Langston Kerman.

Several guest stars will also appear, including Zack Fox, Ego Nwodim, Diallo Riddle, Ziwe, Tituss Burgess, Comedian CP, Devon Walker and Belmont Cameli.

Marshall Todd, who co-wrote the original Barbershop film, serves as a writer, co-showrunner and executive producer on the new series. Max Searle is also a co-showrunner and executive producer.

Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley and Mike Stein executive produce for Hartbeat, alongside Tiffany Brown, Bradley Gardner, Cameron Burnett, Autumn Bailey-Ford, George L. Tillman and Robert Teitel. Fowler also serves as an executive producer, while Oz Rodriguez directs and executive produces.

Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Barbershop will premiere with all eight episodes on Prime Video on February 10, 2027.
