Pokémon UNITE will officially end service on March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC, according to an announcement published on the game’s official website on October 27, 2026. The shutdown applies to both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions, bringing the multiplayer battle game’s service to an end after more than five years. The Nintendo Switch version originally launched on July 21, 2021.
In its official end-of-service announcement, the game’s team thanked players who had supported Pokémon UNITE since launch and confirmed that a special event would run before the servers close.
The first major changes have already taken effect. Aeos Gem sales, new UNITE Club memberships, and automatic membership renewals were suspended on October 27 at 05:00 UTC. Existing players can continue spending their remaining Aeos Gems, while current UNITE Club members retain their benefits until the end of their paid membership period.
FAREWELL EVENT WILL OFFER LICENSES AND HOLOWEAR
Before the shutdown, players will have one final opportunity to collect in-game rewards. A special event and game update will begin on November 12, 2026, allowing players to obtain items that have appeared in the game, including Unite licenses and Holowear cosmetics.
The previously announced Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo competitive tournament will also proceed as planned, with qualifying tournaments scheduled to begin on December 5, 2026.

Although online battles will become unavailable after March 23, 2027, players will have access to a new library feature. Those who download the required library data before service ends will be able to view selected gameplay records and in-game content, including Pokémon, achievements, and cosmetics they have collected.
Players must complete this download before the shutdown deadline to retain access. The library generally cannot be transferred between devices, and the developers will not provide support for the feature after service ends. Players will also lose the ability to log in or participate in battles once the servers close.
The shutdown marks the end of a significant period for Pokémon UNITE, which brought Pokémon battles into a team-based multiplayer format across consoles and mobile devices. Players can continue enjoying the game and its farewell activities until the final service date.
