The Pokémon Company has officially revealed a new limited-time event for Pokémon Pokopia, giving players a fresh reason to return to the cozy life simulation title.

Titled “Wish Upon A Jirachi,” the event introduces the mythical Wish Pokémon into the experience, alongside new crafting mechanics and themed rewards.

The event will run from June 23 to July 8, 2026, offering players a short window to participate and unlock exclusive content tied to Jirachi.

How the Jirachi Event Works in Pokémon Pokopia

The “Wish Upon A Jirachi” event revolves around interacting with Jirachi and completing a series of in-game tasks. Players will first need to locate Jirachi in their town, where they will receive a special crafting recipe known as Wish Notes.

From there, the gameplay loop expands. Players must fulfill requests from other Pokémon residents, gradually upgrading their Wish Notes into Sparkling Wish Notes. These enhanced items can then be exchanged with Jirachi at a Pokémon Center.

The reward system is focused on customization, with players receiving furniture and décor inspired by the starry sky, aligning with Jirachi’s cosmic theme. This adds a new visual layer to town-building, encouraging creativity and exploration.

Before jumping into the event, there is one key condition that players must meet. Jirachi will only appear in towns that have a rebuilt Pokémon Center. This means players who have not progressed far enough in town development may need to prioritize this upgrade first.

This requirement ties directly into the game’s core loop, reinforcing progression systems while ensuring that participants are actively engaged with the world-building aspects of Pokémon Pokopia.

A Unique Pokémon Experience Built Around Creativity

Developed by Game Freak in collaboration with Omega Force, Pokémon Pokopia offers a different take on the Pokémon formula. Instead of traditional battles, the game emphasizes creativity, exploration, and community building.

Players control a Ditto that takes on human form, allowing them to interact with Pokémon in new ways. By befriending different species, players can learn abilities such as Bulbasaur’s Leafage to grow plants or Squirtle’s Water Gun to revive dried environments.

This system allows players to gradually transform their surroundings, creating a welcoming town that attracts more Pokémon. Over time, the game evolves into a deeply personalized experience shaped by player choices.
