The episode starts with Roy and Liko arriving at Galer region. After arriving at the city, they came across the city gym leader, Kabu. The gym leader was crowded with his fans. Roy thought it would be a great opportunity to ask the gym leader about the black Rekkuuza.
However, before he got the chance to ask him, the gym leader left from there. So Roy and Liko decided to tail. After tailing him, it leads them to his gym. There, they meet with Kubo’s assistant, Wakaba. Wakaba and Roy had a lot in common, so they got along pretty well.
She takes Roy and Liko to the gym leader, Kubo. Kubo recognizes them from before. Roy asked Kubo if he knew anything about Rekkuuza. Hearing the word, Rekkuuza shocked Wakaba since she knew it was a legendary Pokémon.
Roy tells the gym leader that he got a monster ball, and the Rekkuuza escaped from there, so he wants to catch it again. Kubo knew they wouldn’t be able to catch Rekkuuza in their current state, so he decided to train them.
