Pokémon Winds and Waves has yet to launch, but a reported Game Freak roadmap is already pointing toward what could come next. According to details attributed to the ongoing Pokémon TeraLeak, Generation 11 may have a targeted 2030 release window, with early development reportedly taking place while Generation 10 is still being completed.

The claim adds another potentially significant detail to the leaked roadmap surrounding Game Freak’s future projects. However, neither Game Freak nor The Pokémon Company has confirmed the reported Generation 11 plans, meaning the information should be treated as unverified.

What the leaked roadmap reportedly says about Gen 11

The latest information comes from documents associated with the large Game Freak leak that surfaced in 2025. According to Centro LEASKS on X, the material allegedly states that Game Freak was working on an internal project known as “Gaia,” associated with Generation 10, while also beginning early prototyping for Gen 11.

The reported documents allegedly identify 2030 as the target for the next numbered Pokémon generation. They also describe teams from Game Freak’s R&D and Concept & Visual departments potentially working across both projects, suggesting that planning for a future generation could begin years before its eventual launch.

That would put Gen 11 several years after Pokémon Winds and Waves, which is officially scheduled for a worldwide release in 2027 exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. The Pokémon Company’s official website describes the upcoming games as open-world adventures featuring wind-swept islands and a large ocean.

The leaked roadmap allegedly includes other Pokémon projects between Gen 10 and Gen 11. One is reportedly Pokémon Legends: Galar, while another project, internally referred to as Project Seed, is said to explore a multi-region concept.

Gen 11 release plans remain unconfirmed

The reported 2030 window would still be far from a guaranteed release date. Internal development schedules can change substantially, particularly when projects are years away from launch.

Pokémon Winds and Waves itself demonstrates why leaked timelines need to be treated cautiously. While earlier leaked material reportedly suggested a different release window, the games were ultimately confirmed for 2027.

For now, there is no official announcement for Pokémon Generation 11, its setting, starters, mechanics, or title. The 2030 target and claims about early development therefore remain part of the unverified leaked roadmap rather than confirmed plans from Game Freak.
