British quiz show Pointless Celebrities Season 5 Episode 11 will bring us another round of questions and answers with its casual tone of nonsensical and whimsical fun. This time, the show will center around the music genre, and it will have an exciting panel for our enjoyment. Each game has the same flow. However, the results are always dissimilar, and the elimination rounds are the height of the show because of the structure.
Teams try to accumulate the fewest points possible during an elimination round. Each round consists of two passes, during which each team member must respond to a question that is derived from a subject. Teams must decide which pass they will play before the question is posed. During the round, teammates are not allowed to discuss solutions. In the first round, the order of play for the first pass is decided by random drawing; in the second round, it is decided by the ascending order of first-round scores. The play is conducted in a different order for the second pass of each round.
Pointless Premise
Each episode features four two-person teams searching for the right answers to challenging general knowledge questions. The winning team is then eligible to compete for the cash jackpot. Every inquiry on the program is factual and was made by a panel of 100 people in a previously conducted public survey.
Each survey respondent who provided a correct response receives one point, and the goal is to receive the lowest possible score. The best answers are those that are “pointless” or correct answers that no one who was surveyed provided. The jackpot grows by £250 for every useless answer given during the main game, and the team that advances to the final round has three chances to win it by providing one such answer.
Pointless Celebrity Trajectory
The BBC ordered a celebrity edition of the show called Pointless Celebrities after the success of Pointless and its move to BBC One. Like the main show, the celebrity edition featured teams of two celebrities competing against one another to win the grand prize for their preferred charities. The show’s rounds followed the same format, but the celebrity version had some noticeable differences. In contrast to the regular show, the celebrity edition was only broadcast on the weekends and during prime time in the evening.
The majority of episodes typically featured a theme in relation to the celebrity contestants that took part; for instance, a celebrity edition that aired in December 2015 was made up of celebrities who became well-known on reality television shows like Big Brother and Made in Chelsea. In addition, celebrities can return in more than one episode with the same partner or a different partner. A team’s winnings are split equally between the two charities it has as members.
Teams compete for a jackpot of £2,500 for their charity as well as £250 for each useless answer provided prior to the final round; in some special episodes, these amounts have been doubled. The program donates £500 to each team that does not make it to the final or wins the jackpot, but the jackpot does not roll over if it is not won.
